The little fortune cookies on the cake is how Brent porposed to Sonya. After they cut the cake they broke open the cookies and read the fortunes. Love it. Congratulations Brent and Sonya*! Using imagery of bear root, sage, star anise and cedar, I am inspired by the Native American’s utilitarian and spiritual usage of these plants: they are not over-harvested and they are not used superficially. The plants all have medicinal value. Only what is needed is taken, and the Earth is given thanks for its gift.
