Eat Real Food: August 2010
http://jessandrobin.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
With Jess and Robin. Wednesday, August 25, 2010. Rarely can I find any organic hot peppers, serranos or jalapenos-even at Whole Foods. When I see them at the farmers market, I always pick up a few and since I have been thinking about an Indian curry, these will do nicely. I did not want to leave without broccoli which was going to be a main ingredient in today's lunch-leftover soba noodles with an asian vinaigrette and steamed broccoli. These baby broccoli are really tender and delicious. I always have i...

Eat Real Food: Saffron Marinated Chicken, Quinoa with Asparagus Puree & Esalen Kale Salad
http://jessandrobin.blogspot.com/2012/01/saffron-marinated-chicken-quinoa-with.html
With Jess and Robin. Tuesday, January 10, 2012. Saffron Marinated Chicken, Quinoa with Asparagus Puree and Esalen Kale Salad. Some people, upon discovering that a Big Mac can survive virtually unchanged for years, stop eating them (see http:/ aht.seriouseats.com/archives/2008/09/12-year-old-mcdonalds-hamburger-still-looking-good.html). Others like my mother or most kids don't even flinch. See http:/ www.youtube.com/watch? Not much other than you should eat this and not a Big Mac. My dear friend Caz Love ...

Madame Munchies: July 2012
http://madamemunchies.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 29, 2012. Salsa Verde, I Heart You. I've been spending alot of time in the kitchen lately - trying out new recipes. The kitchen is one of my happy places. I needed to put together a quick sauce to drizzle over skirt steak and had all of the ingredients needed for salsa verde. The Art of Simple Food. 1/3 c coarsely chopped parsley. Grated zest of one lemon. 1 small garlic clove, finely chopped or minced. 1 tbs capers, drained and rinsed, chopped. 1/2 tsp. salt. Freshly ground pepper to taste.
Madame Munchies: April 2011

Saturday, April 16, 2011. I should be concentrating on work related tasks, e-mails, files, projects, etc. but I’m on overload. It’s been a couple weeks of non-stop action at my day job and I have since forgotten how to a) relax and b) enjoy. Now that, my friends, is a real shame. Because relaxation and the ability to enjoy (aka pleasure) are prerequisites if you intend on labeling yourself as a foodie. In fact, I recently attended a craft party and made these cookies to share with friends as we allowed o...
Madame Munchies: September 2011
http://madamemunchies.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Saturday, September 10, 2011. I'm a Snicker, You're a Doodle. I can't tell you the last time I made a batch of snickerdoodles and in all honesty, I wasn't a big fan of snickerdoodles. I have a slight issue with "too much" cinnamon. Don't get me wrong, I really like cinnamon, but in minimal doses. So this cookie hasn't been on my "favorite" list. Okay, maybe the conversation didn't exactly flow that way, but it sparked my interest to give them another try and bake a batch over the weekend. The game was on!

Monday, October 24, 2011. A Foodie in Paris. Paris - it's been a dream destination for me (for quite some time) and how can it not be? It's a foodie mecca. What I loved about visiting many speciality food shops and open air markets is how much love, creativity and pride oozes out of each creation. The storefronts alone are mini museums, displaying their crowned jewels of culinary perfection. Poilane is one of Paris' finest boulangeries. In fact, Karen, from McCalls Meat and Fish Co. recently poin...A mus...

Friday, May 13, 2011. Run, Don't Walk to Canele. I should've run to. Last but not least, we split the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream and homemade chocolate sauce (which had more a consistency of pudding, thick and luscious). Of course, I forgot to document the profiteroles before we dived into them, but there's proof of it's existence! Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Madame Munchies on Facebook! Tuesday, September 25, 2012. Is all the rage. A friend of mine has referred to Pinterest as the "new black". It has instantly become one of my "online happy places" and also a resource for recipe inspiration! I recently tested a recipe I found on Pinterest for Coconut and Chicken Curry Soup from a site called. You can find the original recipe. But I adapted it to fit Madame Munchies' tastebuds. I wanted to incorporate more vegetables and I also kicked it up a notch or two in my cookbook. 2 Return the chi...

With Jess and Robin. Tuesday, January 17, 2012. Coconut Cashew Squash Curry. As of yesterday, I am now on a "Nutritional Cleanse" which means I am having 2 smoothies a day and one healthy meal. It is similar to Dr. Unger's "Clean" but instead of using his products I am using Designs for Health Paleo-Cleanse. So far so good. This is amazing when cleansing because it tastes so decadent it almost feels like you are eating some sort of a desert. About 1 tsp. kosher salt, divided. 1 teaspoon cumin seeds.

Jess & Ron Get Married
Jess and Ron Get Married. It all started with a beer. We had originally started chatting online, but not for very long. Jess was headed to a Beer 101 class at the Raven and Republic (because Budweiser doesn't teach you as much about beer as you'd think) and Ron was coincidentally teaching that particular beer class.
