The Lavender Peacock: Feeding the Freezer
http://nsdhwife.blogspot.com/2010/06/feeding-freezer.html
Monday, June 14, 2010. I was listening to a sermon by Mark Driscoll. What, you ask, does this have to do with feeding the freezer? Well, I'll tell you! One of the things that my husband said he would really appreciate was if I would give him breakfast before he left the house ( early. In the morning for work. I had been just assuming that he'd grab a bowl of cereal, or stop and get something on the way, or whatever. He doesn't really like cereal (who knew? 16 whole wheat tortillas. 12 organic brown eggs.

The Lavender Peacock: Multigrain Blueberry Muffins
http://nsdhwife.blogspot.com/2010/06/multigrain-blueberry-muffins.html
Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Multigrain Blueberry Muffins (original recipe). 3 C whole wheat flour (I use freshly milled). 1 C raw old fashioned oats. 1 1/2 Tbsp. whole flax seeds. 2 Tbsp. millet. 2 tsp baking soda. 2 tsp aluminum free baking powder (I use Rumford's). 1 C oil (I usually use olive oil for just about everything, but whatever you use will work). 1 C dehydrated cane juice (if you want to just use regular sugar, that is fine. Or sucanant will work). 1/2 Tbsp. pure vanilla extract. 1/4 c brown sugar.

The Coffeys: Website Review: E-mealz
http://jasonandrachelcoffey.blogspot.com/2011/05/website-review-e-mealz.html
Monday, May 2, 2011. I was looking on Dave Ramsey's website the other day, daveramsey.com. And ran across the tab at the top entitled "Dave Recommends." One of his recommendations was the website e-mealz.com. The grocery list also gives an estimated tally for the items you buy. For a 5 meal, low-fat plan for 2 the total was $38! I'm sure there are some variations depending on the brands you prefer, but overall it's still a pretty good deal. If you are like me, figuring out what to eat every evening is al...

The Coffeys: April 2009
http://jasonandrachelcoffey.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 19, 2009. A Year of Change and of Life Well Lived. Thanks to Christine for inspiring this post. Welcome to our blog! For the past year, Jason and I have been learning how to be a married couple. We were placed in a city far away from the support of family and friends which forced us to discover how to live together without their presence. I'm thinking of so many cliche' phrases that you have all heard a thousand times. It's been a challenge, but a good one! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Paying Dues: August 2009

Friday, August 14, 2009. Fat of the Land. Also, as usual, Becker and Posner have an excellent discourse on the subject in their Aug 2nd post, in which Posner gives particular attention to Tomas Philipson's work on the economics of obesity (See Becker-Posner blog under Various Items). Discussion questions include which, if any, of these or other alternatives make sense? Should healthy non-Diet Coke drinkers have to pay a tax as opposed to obese Diet Coke drinkers? Should obese people be directly taxed?
