Klauser Happenings: The End of Summer
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/08/the-end-of-summer.html
The End of Summer. We'll probably have summery weather for another month, but school for Liam and Greta starts tomorrow and so the real season is coming to an end for us. Maybe it's because our summer vacation was only two months long or maybe the kids are just at great ages, but summertime really seemed to fly by this year and I'm so sad to see it go. So it's with much reluctance that I'm writing this post, but here's the season's recap:. Miniature golf with cousin Joseph. Tuesday, August 19, 2014.

Klauser Happenings: Greta's 5th Birthday
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/07/gretas-5th-birthday.html
And just like that, we've got a five year old in the house! Greta had been counting down until her birthday - and her birthday party - for a couple of weeks when the big day finally arrived. Her party was at The Little Gym (same place we had Liam's fifth birthday bash, somewhat coincidentally), and involved lots of running, jumping, swinging, climbing, and general kid craziness. The theme, of course, was Frozen since Greta cannot get enough of Elsa and the gang. Yep, Greta got her ears pierced to mark th...

Klauser Happenings: Bye Bye, Blog...
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/10/bye-bye-blog.html
Bye Bye, Blog. At least for now. Who knows what we'll do with it down the road? While I love looking back through this blog as a record of our kids' lives and our family happenings, the truth is I don't. Love writing it, there are only a few people still reading it (thanks Natalie, Mike, and Kathy! And there are simpler ways to share photos with friends and family nowadays. So for now we're off to Neverland, where hopefully Liam and Greta (and maybe even Shawn and me) will stop growing up so quickly!

Klauser Happenings: Explora Camp
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/09/explora-camp.html
It's not even cool outside yet, and I can't resist a summer flashback. The kids spent a week of afternoons in late July/early August taking classes at our children's science museum, and had too much fun not to share. Greta's camp, "What's Cooking in Chemistry? Involved a lot of food making and, of course, food eating :). Liam's class, "Geology Rocks! Thursday, September 11, 2014. With you and Shawn as parents I am not too surprised you have kids that enjoy experiments and science. :).

Klauser Happenings: Bandelier & Back
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/07/bandelier-etc.html
Last Saturday, we drove a couple hours north for the kids' first visit to Bandelier National Monument. Basically, it's a canyon filled with petroglyphs, cliff dwellings, and ruins from the ancestral Pueblo people that lived in this area until about 500 years ago. Seeing the old kivas and remains of mortar homes is cool, but the definite highlight is climbing into the dwellings built into the base of the canyon wall. And after she ran out of her own skin to write on, she moved on to the rest of us. Silent...

Klauser Happenings: Soccer Season
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/08/soccer-season.html
Practice started Tuesday night, so it's already fall soccer time again! Although they are pretty worn out when it's over, I love that the kids have these days to run around and play with their friends after school during the week :). Thursday, August 28, 2014. They are sure cute in their soccer outfits. Glad they are having fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Adventures in New Mexico. Adventures of the Greenies. Silent K's Thoughts and Happenings.

Klauser Happenings: Same School
http://shawnandamelia.blogspot.com/2014/08/same-school.html
Yesterday was the first day of school for our elementary, and the first time ever the kids have been at the same school. Greta, the enthusiastic kindergartener. And Liam, the cool second grader. Excited to get going. At school we reunited with all kinds of friends and it was generally chaos. Shawn surprised us by heading into work late so he could join in the first-day festivities. This seems to be turning into an annual tradition as it's always the special snack of choice! Thursday, August 21, 2014.
