That combination of noises, at deafening volume, accompanied by the guy in the next bunk landing squarely on top of you, and everything else in the boat landing on top of him as you become the bottom layer of the salad of stuff in a boat will wake you up, no matter how tired you are. Was something with a huge load on it breaking or letting go (the shackle on the guy for my sailing friends). The woooooooOOOOOOSSSHHHHH! Whiskey Delta Bravo 2898 VALIS out.

Its been all over the place from no wind and big lumpy seas to blowing low 20s and big lumpy seas. Its work your butt off through the light air to get to the little squalls where all the wind is, then work your butt off to go fast and keep it all upright and aimed. The glow of the Eastern and North shores of Oahu towns of Kaneohe and Hauula are clearly visible and we can see the beacons on top of the ridge.
