Blue-Hearted Bookworm: Jude the Obscure
http://bybeebooks.blogspot.com/2015/03/jude-obscure.html
Thursday, March 19, 2015. I'm SO glad that I read this novel! But it's right up there in my affections. But why? Why did Thomas Hardy stop writing novels after Jude. He'd finally hit his stride. He lived another 30 years. I mourn to think of all the great novels stoppered up inside him. Sadly, I know why he quit and went to poetry. Couldn't he have just blown cigar smoke in his critics' faces and told them to shove it? Reminded me of Edith Wharton's The House of Mirth. I started out reading Jude. On my K...

Blue-Hearted Bookworm: A Game of Thrones: Finished!
http://bybeebooks.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-game-of-thrones-finished.html
Sunday, May 03, 2015. A Game of Thrones: Finished! I did it. I finally finished A Game of Thrones. Now I have to decide whether to go on with the other books in the saga. I think I'll have to largely because of Daenerys Targaryen. The decision to go on doesn't have to be made today, but winter is coming. Posted by Susan Bybee. Labels: characters i love. Blue-Hearted Bookworm: Bookworm Transitions
http://bybeebooks.blogspot.com/2015/04/bookworm-transitions.html
Monday, April 27, 2015. In other news, I have finally gotten the Bybeeary unpacked and organized:. Nonfiction on the left, fiction on the right. As you can imagine, reading has taken a back seat. No, that's not right. Reading isn't even in the car. If anything, it's clinging to the back bumper. This seems like a running joke, but I'm still reading A Game of Thrones. I'm also reading Without You, There is No Us. By Suki Kim and Let's Just Say It Wasn't Pretty. My beautiful hometown library in Sedalia.

Saturday, May 09, 2015. I Am Sale-ing, I Am Sale-ing. Ah, library sales! I have missed them, but I had quite forgotten that strange mix of feelings when I see a library book that has been discontinued:. Oh, I've been looking for it for such a long time! Why are they throwing it out of their collection? But wait. That means that I can take home not just for two weeks, but forever! Here are some of my recent finds:. 1 The Life of Irene Nemirovsky. I also loved him in Terms of Endearment. John Marquand....

Blue-Hearted Bookworm: Finding My Feet
http://bybeebooks.blogspot.com/2015/04/finding-my-feet.html
Saturday, April 11, 2015. Read Life has definitely taken a back seat to Real Life. At the present, I'm still bashing my way through A Game of Thrones. My inner Bonnethead and Nerd Girl are both enthralled with Pioneer. I'm also reading a memoir by Ingeborg Day called Ghost. In which she explores the elephant in the room as she was growing up: Her father was a Nazi police officer. It's well-written, haunting, disturbing. I've only finished one book since I arrived back: Unworthy. And what of the Bybeeary?
