Travelling Tornado: A taste of Frisco
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2008/01/taste-of-frisco.html
A taste of Frisco. I spent a wonderful three days in San Francisco the sun shone and the skies were blue but as expected it was a little chilly. As I layered up all the clothing in my possession. Four vest tops, two t-shirts, a sarong. As a scarf, shorts layered with leggings and combat pants I realised that I did not look dissimilar. To the street guy living on the pavement next to my accommodation. LAX had been less than straight forward and was not a good welcome. To the US involving. To find the site...

Travelling Tornado: June 2007
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2007_06_01_archive.html
After much thought and planning I booked my travels and the tickets arrived this morning. A round the world ticket covering India, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Tonga, Samoa and USA. I am both excited and apprehensive about setting off alone. I am sure there will be sad and happy times ahead but for now I am focusing. On getting my backpack small and light enough to carry.only three pairs of shoes and one bag.its hell! Back to the filing. Travelling Tornado: Saaaaahhhmmooohaaah
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2008/01/saaaaahhhmmooohaaah.html
Once the rains stopped Samoa was to be the perfect south pacific destination for relaxation, beaches and interesting sights.a holiday! There are two main islands Upolu and Savai'i and I managed to get around both of them enjoying most of what they had to offer.By the end of the week as the sun came out to play I was wishing that I had a week to spend relaxing on the beach before the inevitable return to real life and the cooler climate! More impressive blow holes, Alofaaga on Savai'i. Amazing waterfalls ...

Travelling Tornado: February 2008
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Its taken me a while to write this post.partly because I have had no Internet. Access and partly because. I knew it would be the last. Having learnt to make a home where ever my backpack landed and my head hit the floor has become a skill over the past 6 months but it was really nice to land back at Manchester on a cold, wet grey day, battle through the M61 traffic and get to my mum and dads for a nice sleep.the novelty. Soon wore off and my feet soon got itchy again! The highs in no particular order.

Travelling Tornado: NYC Freezing my bottom off !
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2008/02/blog-post.html
NYC Freezing my bottom off! It was very very very cold. that is my main memory of New York. It was -7 when I left.my skin got wind burnt and chaffed and I had to by a coat that a north pole adventurer would not look out of place wearing! In hindsight NYC in the depth of winter after a the longest summer ever around the world was not one of my best ideas especially as my backpack was ill equipped for the extreme. I spent just two days in NYC mooching and hanging around the city browsing the massive Macy's.

Travelling Tornado: October 2007
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2007_10_01_archive.html
We're singing in the rain! Some of you may know that I have a new interest in my life, Graham, who i met inconveniently in May whilst I was planning my round the world adventure. After a few months of 'dating' (feel like a teenager! I had become so used to my own company and even more used to my own way (nothing new there I hear you cry! Also would we still like each other? Once I was able to move again.after the electrics went out, cars started to float and the area turned into a river, gorges appea...

Travelling Tornado: August 2007
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2007_08_01_archive.html
Going mad in Madurai. Reduced the crowds and touts. Acres of temple and artifacts in a gallery that most UK museums would have wet dreams over! We stumbled upon a massive market where I decided to have some clothes made by a great little tailor (one of thousands in the city) to replace my trusty linen trousers that rippd on a rickshaw! When not parting with cash at the market just watching the city be with a cold beer from the rooftop bars was wonderful. Pics show yummy prawns and sunrise at 'lands end'.

Travelling Tornado: 'Malo e lelei' from Tonga
http://travellingtornado.blogspot.com/2008/01/malo-e-lelei-from-tonga.html
Malo e lelei' from Tonga. I see a group of about 6 other non Tongan passengers arrive at the baggage collection area (which was a jumble of bags and strange packages wrapped in layers of cling film including several funeral wreaths made from plastic flowers) I later find out the other passengers are Mormon missionaries and should be avoided at all costs unless you want a good free school education in Tonga then it seems you should become a Mormon! Not exactly tropical.island reality 'my street'. The priz...
