Jessica Minor – biocultural anthropologist & physician-in-training
Biocultural anthropologist and physician-in-training. With insights from the biomedical and social sciences, I explore the health consequences of social adversity. My research examines health disparities through the lens of life history theory, understanding psychosocial stress as an energy investment that detracts from health maintenance and reproduction. I explore these and other interests as an MD-PhD student in biological anthropology at Yale University. New Haven, CT 06511. See me in the field.

This year, in between all the sponge-like learning I’m supposed to be engaged in, I’m thinking a lot about pedagogy. I know it’s a lot of information to absorb, and I know I need to have seen it this year. Every parasite, bacteria, virus under the sun needs to wiggle its way into my brain. (Brain-eating vet-school-aria worm anyone? Vet school stress dreams lack subtlety. The hum...
