Originally from Arkansas, Jessica Pitchford graduated from the PhD Creative Writing Program at Florida State University, where she also served as editor-in-chief of The Southeast Review. And completed her first novel . She earned her MFA from McNeese State University, where she was named the 2004 Robert Olen Butler Fiction Prize winner and wrote a thesis of short stories, THE NATURAL STATE, OF ALL THINGS.
