Monday, June 22, 2009. Night view of Taipei City, taken from observatory desk in Taipei 101. Ilha Formosa means Beautiful Island. That's what a group of Portugese sailors uttered when they saw Taiwan for the first time. People are awesome, famous to be one of the warmest people in the world. Chia Yi's night market. This was the train that we took to go to Alishan National Scenic Area.At the halfway point we were asked to walk a distance to catch another train to Alishan. The misty weather in Alishan.

Sunday, January 11, 2009. Bangkok, Macau and Hong Kong. It's always good to have vacation. I've been longing for this holiday for many many months. I visited 3 countries in 2 weeks. I was in Bangkok from 18 Dec till 23 Dec for cardiology seminar with Joyce (my buddy from Hong Kong), Foong Yan and my boss. It was 3 days event. Spend 2 days shopping with Joyce :). Monday, October 13, 2008. I am crazy about Abba songs recently after watching Mama Mia.I watched the movie twice. Digged out the Mama Mia musical play CD that I bought in Melbourne 3 years ago.Had the opportunity to watch the play in Melbourne.AWESOME! I almost stood up and dance also in the cinema.hehehe. Sunday, 4 March 2012. Been to the Auckland Museum during my trip to New Zealand last year. Its a pretty good museum with lots of displays from natural history to Maori culture and a war memorial (huh, NZ in war? Not quite, but they sent their people to join the British, duh). And in that museum, I've come across the most disgusting display I've ever seen! Its around the natural history galleries, in the section called " Weird and Wonderful. There is a tank. well, let the picture speak for itself.

Tuesday, 24 September 2013. Common scene in Bangkok. One of the things that I noticed about Thailand is the amount of electrical wires everywhere. Hanging overhead, some buzzing with that electrical sound and some low hanging ones. One needs to watch out when crossing a pedestrian bridge or your head might get caught in the web of cables! Wednesday, 23 February 2011. Remembering those who fell in Kanchanaburi. A recent trip to Kanchanaburi was for a workshop, but we had time off one evening to go to the museum, the cemetery and the popular bridge (i.e. bridge over the River Kwai – also a movie). During World War II, the Japanese invaded South East Asia and brought many POWs to Kanchanaburi to build a railroad that joins Thailand to Myanmar. There was about 180,000 Asian POWs (most from Malaysia! Sunday, 6 February 2011. End Nov = KL.
