Beyond its twisted branches lay a blanket of fields; a patchwork of vineyards, a sprinkle of terracotta houses, a few clusters of woodland. When the nights envelop and temperatures drop, the ancient olive tree provides shelter for the animals, like it has done for years. April 26, 2015. Hiked to Twin Falls today with my wife and cousin who is visiting from the Netherlands. This hike is about 30 minutes east of Seattle in the North Bend WA area. The sun didn’t break through the clouds unfortunately and the trail was washed out so we couldn’t get near the falls or the bridge that crosses above it. Was a good hike none the less. January 1, 2014. Spent three days skiing at the Stevens Pass Ski Resort in Washington. We haven’t gotten as much snow yet this year as we usually do so it was pretty barren and icy. January 22, 2015. The giant redwoods in northern California are pretty infamous but I’m sure they astound every new visitor as they did me. I’ve seen many pictures of these trees and even in some of these here, it’s really difficult to get a perspective of just how huge they are. They totally dwarfed my full sized truck.
