I'm trying to remember where I was at this point last year, and how it all felt insurmountable then as well (right? But it's not helping. There's so much to do, and so very, very little time to do it, especially if I end up taking that internship at OSF in July. That completely negates three weeks of research/writing, thereby collapsing my timeline even further. Thesis, round two.

This afternoon, my thesis adviser/the director of my program told me he had been invited to write an article/essay for an anthology being published next year. He wanted to write about an idea I'd had last spring, and asked me to co-author the piece with him. But it doesn't matter what they think, because the smartest man I've ever met wants to co-author an article WITH ME!

This was during the ceremony - it rained. So we were under cover. The lighting wasn't great, but this picture of the exchange of rings turned out well. It cleared up soon after the ceremony, so we got some pictures in front of the river. I tried to take non-posed pictures with a long lens, and the spontaneity.

Film, or the bestselling book it was based on - I am talking about the trip my family and I took this weekend to Newport, Oregon for my daughters 2 nd. Birthday. Why, you may ask, would someone who lives on the coast in Astoria go 150 miles down the shore for a vacation? We had a great time, and I had a lot of fun taking pictures. No longer a bird, but the idea of a bird. Weird.

Don't ask me to do your wedding - 'cause I suck. Saturday, June 30, 2007. The river - I had to lie down on my belly to get this shot. I like the rocks out of focus in the foreground. It made the picture more visually interesting. My kids love throwing rocks into water, but who doesn't? I just thought this tree looked cool. Ahhh Mr. Slug. The only member of the animal kingdom slow enough for me to take pictures of and keep him in focus. He may be gross, but at least he's camera friendly. Links to this post.
