Just Another Day in Paradise. Thursday, July 31, 2008. This is my first post as a trigenarian. My mom and dad came on Saturday and prepared a YUM-EE meal. To top off Mom's brownies, the master brought Blue Bell into my home. Sinfull stuff. And I ate WAY too much. Around our bowls that night, Abby asked, "So, mom, how old are you? Until Tuesday, I'll be 29. Then I will be 30.". Coming around the table, she put her hand on my shoulder sympathetically, "You better enjoy these last few days.". July 1, 2008.

Monday, August 11, 2008. Well, it is here. We're leaving for the other side of the world tomorrow evening. We are scrambling to do last minute packing. The kids are mostly all packed, even their carry-ons. It has really gone quite well. We are wrapping everything up, saying our last goodbyes, and getting everything ready. Many people showed up bright and early that morning to help us move everything out into the yard.
