TEXTILES, QUILTING and TRAVEL. Sunday, August 9, 2015. Returned this afternoon from a fantastic weekend of sewing, great company and food at Lady Northcote, Bacchus Marsh. Many thanks to Jeann and Maureen for a relaxing and happy weekend away from the domestic duties. Friday night thick as pea soup was the order for the night. Woke Saturday morning to a clear day. This morning woke to the screeches of hundreds of cockies. Spent the weekend sewing an easy way to do Flying Geese. Got this amount done.

This or that →. January 9, 2017. Not a new dessert, but I think it looks delicious. Instead of neutral four patches as the cornerstones, I was inspired by a picture of a small mystery quilt which had magenta squares in their place . After playing with the idea I have made hourglass units. My magenta is scrappy rather than a constant, so pieced centres work. With bright green stars in the centre of the blocks, I think my quilt can take it. All 31 sashings done. On to the blocks. And tagged Bonnie Hunter.

Complete Mystery →. January 11, 2017. Final decisions in making the En Provence mystery quilt involve the placement of blocks within the grid, and then arranging the sashing pieces to look their best. Bustle in my hedgerow →. Lulu and her kitten. December 20, 2016. I have named the tortoiseshell Lulu because it seems to suit her, and the tiny blue and cream tortoiseshell is Umeko, plum child. Both are very playful, it is fun to watch them together, with Umeko copying her mother sometimes, and taking a lead at others. I suspect in no time at all she will have a mind of her own. The great cat stand off. Sashing surprise →. January 8, 2017. The final clue was released on New Years Day along with the reveal of the whole quilt. It is a lovely design and I quickly made one block and some sashing. After much umming and ahhing I decided to make my version 3 blocks by 4 blocks. Full size is 4 x 4.
