Random ramblings....: April 2007
http://kuanniewong.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 28, 2007. Maybe it’s just that I’m so thankful that it’s raining due to the severe water shortage, and not having seen rain for months, or perhaps, I’ve just grown up a little. It’s the 3rd day of it being so rainy, and its novelty is beginning to wear off. There’s still 6 days of forecasted rain to come. Not going to like it alot longer, but we need it. Monday, October 22, 2007. How was my weekend? Had a afternoon of cupcake and kaya making along with all the laughs! Not forgetting, my feeble attempt at making kaya, which yield only 4 small containers for 3 privileged people and my household. I think it tasted quite nice! Attempt 2 coming up sometime. My arm was too tired from all the kaya stirring hence no pictures.next time! Heeheee Here are the cupcakes! Don't they just look delicious? All thanks to my half past six photography skills!

Random ramblings....: September 2006
http://kuanniewong.blogspot.com/2006_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 29, 2006. This happened about 2 weeks ago, and quite afew have heard this from me, but I think it's funny.I still laugh when I think about it.I know Ee May does ;P. Waking up late one morning, I quickly packed my breakfast and lunch provisions into my bag, apples, pears, and tomato and avocado for my sandwich. Halfway to work while waiting for the pedestrian light to turn green, I see a lady on a wheelchair wheeling past me with a sandwich on her lap and it dawned upon me."YIKES! I̵...

Random ramblings....: Biscotti Bricks
http://kuanniewong.blogspot.com/2007/11/biscotti-bricks.html
Wednesday, November 28, 2007. Part of my experiment for my baking project coming up soon, I attempted making some biscottis which literally mean "twice baked". Apparently, biscottis keep well for a long time and used to be taken as food ration by soldiers and explorers. It certainly isn't the easiest "quick mix and pour" type of recipe around. There are afew steps to it, and I think the mixture is alittle tempremental. It turned out okay. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile.

Thursday, November 23, 2006. Scrubbing the kitchen floor. Literally. That's exactly what my housemate and I did the entire night. All in preparation for the handover of the house. The kitchen is now so clean, that you can prolly eat off the floor.i kid you not. I feel so accomplished tonight, with that done, which leaves us both with sore backs and every bone that's feeling so tired and not to mention the Jif and every other harsh detergent treated hands. More cleaning to come. Oh joy.

Monday, December 03, 2007. Pesto Penne Pasta - Review. I know it’s been a LONG time since my pasta post, and here is the long awaited and not to mention overdue review by the Food Junkie. My many thousand apologies! Disclaimer: I couldn’t help the presentation. There was no other option besides the plastic container. How else would you pack food? Otherwise, I think I fared pretty well! 183; Presentation: 1/5. It came in an unsightly plastic container. 183; Fragrance: 3/5. 183; Taste: 4/5. Jin of the pond.

Saturday, December 01, 2007. I think I came quite close to replicating the hotel's. I just have to wait for my guinea pig's critique. =). This dish combines the wonderful flavours basil and sundried tomatoes. The sausages give a meaty flavour to the dish. Great as a main or cold salad for a barbacue on a warm summer's day. I used Penne instead of spaghetti or fettucine because I find that sauces simply slide of the latter. Spirali is also a good option. Pesto Pasta (serves 4-5). 1 tbsp olive oil. A pinch...

Random ramblings....: Hyde Park Tavern
http://kuanniewong.blogspot.com/2007/12/hyde-park-tavern.html
Saturday, December 22, 2007. A few of us went to the Hyde Park Tavern for dinner. With the word Tavern in the name, I thought that it would be one of the old stone buildings with the old pub feel. It was instead a new modern looking place with nice clean lines to its interior. The dips and starters we ordered. I loved the beetroot dip. Never been a fan of beetroot, but I think I want to learn to make the dip! The assortment of starters wasn't too bad, but some items like the bocconcini. I was famished by...
