Wednesday, August 27, 2014. Thunder in the Valley Air Show. We bought tickets several weeks ago (at the early-bird reduced rate! It was a clear, sunny and H-O-T day. Whew! Temps reached the mid-90s and the sun was scorching on the hot asphalt - and wide open spaces. There aren't many shade trees near an airport! But we managed to enjoy the show and found a bit of respite under the wing of a big DC-3 Gunship that was on display on one runway! After 4 hours in the hot sun, you take any shade you can find!

Friday, March 27, 2015. Marta couldn't wait to yank her front tooth out of her mouth - it really wasn't even that loose, but she was determined to get it pulled out, so she did it! Sunday, February 22, 2015. Silas and Ben have been preparing for several months for their Northern Tier Webelos trip in Ely, MN. Special gear and clothing was purchased (or received as gifts! Physicals were completed at the Doctor's office, gear was packed and re-packed, and finally they were ready to make the trip with four other dads and boys. Bag #1 contained mess kits, matches, pocket knives, etc. Bag #2 contained long underwear, wool socks, and sock and glove liners. They had a great time together!

Saturday, November 29, 2014. We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year with Ben's parents and sister and family. Wednesday, July 30, 2014. We headed west last weekend to a campground our family hadn't been to before, but where I remember camping A LOT when I was growing up - Black Hawk State Park near Lake View (south of Sac City). There were parts I remembered, and others that I didn't, but it was so fun to be back in a place that holds many memories for me. We set up the trailer - our site was RIGHT on the lake. It was beautiful and quiet - just what we wanted! Our site for the weekend. No one went to bed hungry!

Our wonderful family of five! Tuesday, May 17, 2011. 2 months old and 2 years old. Hard to believe but Jacob officially turned 2 on May 12 and Lucas turned 2 months on May 7! Where has the time gone? Time flies when you are having fun! Lucas had his 2 month well child and weighed 10 lbs 13 oz, and at this time he was switched to Bactrim. He will be on this till he is 1 year old (or so I suspect). Our wonderful family of five! Thursday, December 22, 2011. Not sure where the time goes, but it looks like I have been a bit neglectful in my blogging updates, so here ya go. Andrew's surgery was on Tuesday and praise God our prayers were answered. Everything turned out better than expected and his parts are where they are supposed to be! He did a great job and has been such a good patient! Jacob's tube surgery is scheduled for January 3rd and hopefully everything will stay put this time! Travel template...

Our wonderful family of five! Monday, September 5, 2011. He also had to have a catheter, but thankfully no UTI! We got home about 4 am and slept in until 7 and then we snuggled in bed until 9. We were all pretty tired most of the morning as both Andrew and Jacob are getting over upper respiratory infections. So needless to say we haven't been sleeping the greatest in our house. Here's a nice picture of our big boy at his 5 year well child. Lucas is feeling better! Lucas and Jacob being cute.

Our wonderful family of five! Monday, October 28, 2013. Hmmm where does the time go? As I looked at my blog post I realized, its been a long time since I've updated! I am currently in my 13th year of teaching middle school. That's crazy that I have been teaching that long and still love what I am doing. The kids are great and I blessed with another great group of 8th and 9th graders. He will play basketball through Ankeny Parks and Rec this winter so we are looking forward to watching him play!
