Meanwhile back at practice - Baylor is up to bat. He can wack the ball like no other! Baylor watched from the fence. Wild Iris along the shore.

Saturday, January 3, 2015. We arrived in Apache Junction to blue skies and 50 degree weather. We had a sign on our front door welcoming us. It felt good to arrive back at Desert Holiday! The next morning we woke up to cold and snow. The freezing temperatures and white mountains reminded us of home. The Superstition Mountains looked fabulous and the snow topped Saguaro Cactus are a special treat for all the locals. The Snowbirds are anxiously waiting for the weather to heat back up.

http://goingupcountry.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-long-and-hot-summer-of-2015.html
Monday, August 10, 2015. The Long and Hot Summer of 2015. We have lived in Central Washington since August of 1998. So, my Central Washington summer memories are only 17 years old. I am going on record saying, this is the longest, hottest summer ever! The temperature has been in the high 90's for weeks. I don't really mind hot dry weather but it's not so great for everyone. We count on the irrigation system to keep a green belt around our house for fire protection. The bucks showed up for some water.

Tuesday, October 21, 2014. Signs, signs everywhere are signs. While we were in Wilder, Idaho, Ray gave Bruce some slabs of wood from his burn pile. The wood is very thick and has beautiful knots and tons of personality. The first thing Bruce built was a bench. He used fence poles for the legs. Several coats of varnish gave this bench a durable satin finish. The bench is beautiful and fits right in the kitchen nook. Thanks Kimmie and Colby for letting us use your Prime! Sunday, October 19, 2014. The bars ...

Sunday, July 26, 2015. Last night a covey of quail stopped by for a drink in the creek and this morning I'm pretty sure a hawk had quail for breakfast. King Quail scoping out the territory to see if it was safe for the wife and kids. A flock of quail. Pretty cute - the chicks followed the crack in the pavement to stay in line crossing the driveway. This year there are between 12-16 babies hanging around. My lavender patch is doing great! Bruce spotted the hawk out in the field eating something. Heading E...

Sunday, September 28, 2014. Memories of the way we were. We drove over to the westside of the state on Friday. First stop was Maple Valley and the delivery of Baylor's tent. I couldn't get a decent picture of the kids with the tent because they were so excited to play in it! Baylor brought down his campfire logs and flames and quickly made his bed inside. Elle also brought down her pillow, blanket and baby dolls to camp for the evening. Duck radiator cap - too cool! I love this duck snarl! Gauges - only ...
