JewInTheSchool: Life Is Like A Fish Spa
http://jewintheschool.blogspot.com/2014/01/life-is-like-fish-spa.html
Adventures of the Tichel-Wearing School Psychologist. Wednesday, January 22, 2014. Life Is Like A Fish Spa. Being back at work after being in Israel for two weeks is not easy! The trip was amazing, and it's been so fun sharing my experiences with coworkers. Reflecting back on my two weeks in this beautiful country has led me to sum up a somewhat hilarious and random common thread to the trip: fish! First encounter with fish was our delicious dinner in Tiberias. Look how yummy! We were so happy we did it!
JewInTheSchool: Elevating the Ordinary
http://jewintheschool.blogspot.com/2013/12/elevating-ordinary.html
Adventures of the Tichel-Wearing School Psychologist. Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Speaking of the spiritual, my husband and I are going to Israel for a couple weeks! Even though I know that Israel is a place visited by people of all religions, I think of it as a Jewish place. But, when coworkers have asked me what I'm doing over break and I say I'm going to Israel, one person said, "Oh, so you're going for Xmas? I like that people perceive Israel as an inclusive place where people of all religions can go.
JewInTheSchool: T.G.I. Shabbat
http://jewintheschool.blogspot.com/2013/12/tgi-shabbat.html
Adventures of the Tichel-Wearing School Psychologist. Friday, December 20, 2013. In the winter, Friday's can get stressful at work. Since I live about an hour away from work, and since Shabbat starts pretty early in the winter, I have to leave work especially early on Fridays. (For my readers unaware about Shabbat: there's certain things we don't do on Shabbat, and one of them includes driving. If you're interested, you can read more here. Isn't that too late? Don't you have to leave? He went on to expla...
JewInTheSchool: There Is No Such Thing As Coincidence
http://jewintheschool.blogspot.com/2013/12/there-is-no-such-thing-as-coincidence.html
Adventures of the Tichel-Wearing School Psychologist. Thursday, December 5, 2013. There Is No Such Thing As Coincidence. Thank G-d, I got married about four months ago. After I got married, I started covering my hair in accordance with Jewish law. I cover my hair with scarves, tichels, and hats rather than with a wig. I had been working at my job for about two years before I got married. So when I walked into work with my hair covered, it was very obvious. G-d has given me the opportunity to be a Kiddush...
JewInTheSchool: Change Is The Only Constant
http://jewintheschool.blogspot.com/2014/10/change-is-only-constant.html
Adventures of the Tichel-Wearing School Psychologist. Friday, October 24, 2014. Change Is The Only Constant. Change is hard for me. Some people like it. Not me. So, when I found out over the summer that I was being assigned to a new high school for this school year, I was not happy. If you remember my previous blog posts. I know, I know, it’s been awhile…thanks to all the people who encouraged me to post again! I LOVED the last last high school where I worked. Me: “Yep”. Student: “To keep it warm? The Da...

https://lifeinthemarriedlane.com/2012/01/26/me-and-my-covered-hair-part-one-the-sheitel
Rivki Silver thoughts and music. Your kosher lifestyle blog. What does that mean? Me and My Covered Hair, Part One: the Sheitel. January 26, 2012. August 4, 2016. Did you end up here because you did a search for the word “sheitel” or something sheitel related? I don’t actually talk about sheitels all that much on this blog. Except for this post, which you should totally read), but I do talk about other things, like a lot about motherhood. A little about marriage. A lot about Jewish topics. I purchased my...

Hahahaha Thank GOD it's not me. Four your procrastinating pleasure, a few odds and ends on the game-changing British elections:. First some choice campaign posters: here. And besi...
Jew In The Room
Jew In The Room. Wednesday, March 23, 2011. Thirty One, It's A Whole Lot Weirder Than Thirty For Some Reason. I'm not sure how it happened, but somehow another year passed and I'm 31 today. When I was a kid 31 seemed soooooooo. Now I know that all those mothers and adults and teachers I though were ancient, were really just sitting around thinking, "How am I old enough to be that kid's mom? That just got checked off my list. One down, tons more to go! BIRTHDAY LIST OF GOALS SPECTACULAR! Or at least, pret...

Adventures of the Tichel-Wearing School Psychologist. Friday, December 19, 2014. If You Can't Grow It, Sew It! I’m not the only person who covers my hair at work! I was doing a classroom observation in an English class last week, and a student was reading his poetry to the class. He started to read the poem, which began “If you can’t grow it, sew it…” Yep, he wrote a poem about hair weaves! Today is the last day of work before Winter Break! And I still love this day! How perfect is that? Change is hard f...

Tales of a Jew in Training - A Love Story by Leigh Marz
Also available in hard copy at Blurb. Leigh Marz began a yearlong process of converting to Judaism in 2004. In preparation for Leighs conversion ceremony her “Jew coach” (as Leigh calls him) asked her to share a written summary. Of her experience with guests. “A written paragraph or two should. Do it,” he suggested. What seemed a simple task became a brief obsession and led to the writing of Tales of Jew In Training. To join the mailing list. Or send a comment. Tales of a Jew in Training.
