The ripe rich tint of the cornfields,. And the wild geese sailing high –. And all over upland and lowland. The charm of the golden-rod –. Poem by –. This farm...

I did not ask for my life. I did not choose my life. I am no longer grateful for it. 35 years. My sentence is life. My life is my punishment. I am a victim of circumstance, that is my crime. When I was young the fires of hope burned bright. My strength seemed endless. Bravely I stood, unshaken in the face of fear. I was fierce. I was a warrior. I was a survivor. 35 years. I never thought I would live this long. I have lost my faith entirely. I have lost all hope. 35 years worth of days. Countless hou...

September 17, 2015. September 17, 2015. Illuminated Cross – Poem by B.E. Surratt. Poem by –. The rain came down in torrents on the first day. Obstacles were many – including fallen trees. Placed on a hill, a cross marked the way. No judgement, simply beckoning, “follow me please”. In this place of new air and room to breathe,. Bonds will strengthen, peace will be restored. It does no good to remember the past, and seethe. I have surrendered, vowing to put down the sword. Choose to walk peacefully. On 2 M...

With a resolute heart and cheerful? Or hide your face from the light of day. With a craven soul and fearful? Oh, a trouble’s a ton, or a trouble’s and ounce,. Or a trouble is what you make it. And it isn’t the fact that you’re hurt that counts,. But only how did you take it? You are beaten to earth? How did you die?

The picture above is me and my husband on our wedding day. We were young and very much in love. 16 years later, we are not so young…but still very much in love. Words cannot express how grateful I am to have him in my life, as my companion and friend. Through all these years, he has stood by my side….through good times and bad, in sickness and in health, for richer or poorer. I am fully aware that more than a couple people in this world do not feel I am deserving of such a love. Food For The Journey.

September 14, 2015. Opportunity – Edward R. Sill (1841-1887). Edward R. Sill (1846-1887). This I beheld, or dreamed it in a dream: –. There spread a cloud of dust along a plain;. And underneath the cloud, or in it, raged. A furious battle, and men yelled, and swords. Shocked upon swords and shields. A prince’s banner. Wavered, then staggered backward, hemmed by foes. A craven hung along the battles edge,. And thought, “Had I a sword of keener steel –. 8221; – he snapped and flung it from his hand. You ar...
