http://jflamephoto.blogspot.com/2007_01_01_archive.html
Monday, January 15, 2007. As promised here is one of the many Copper Basin 300 photos I will be posting. Lens: Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8. Posted by jflame at 11:12 PM. Friday, January 12, 2007. I found this leaf stuck in the needles of a spruce tree. It almost looks like the tree has a firm hold of the leaf. I will have photos of the CB300 (Copper Basin 300) dog sled race coming sometime after tomorrow. Camera: Canon EOS 20D. Lens: Tamron 28-75 f/2.8. Focal Length: 75.0mm. Exposure Time: 1/125 sec.

Tuesday, September 27, 2005. I took this picture last week. Even though it is autumn there still are a few flowers around. Posted by jflame at 10:22 PM. Monday, September 26, 2005. Oh beautiful for spacious skies.". It's a grand old flag. This picture brings songs to mind. Okay, I took it at the Alaska State Fair on one of the days it was nice. Living In The Great Land. Why Did The Bear Cross The Road? Thursday, May 19th, 2005. Long and busy day today. I left Juneau on the fast ferry Fairweather to Skagway, where I hooked up with Alaska Direct Bus Line (call 867-668-4833 in Whitehorse and ask for Henry, it’s literally the only way to go from Skagway to Fairbanks by land) for the trip over the mountain to Whitehorse. Tomorrow it’s on to Fairbanks — a long but very scenic bus ride. Filed under: Alaska Life. Elise Tomlinson, Artist.

Living In The Great Land. Steamer Yukon at Nenana. Saturday, June 18th, 2005. The reason it’s been so quiet here is that a day after getting back to Juneau I came down with a vicious summer cold. I’ve been laying on the couch, drinking mint tea, coughing, and watching two weeks of gorgeous sunny Juneau summer slide by outside my window. Other than forays outside for cold meds and cough drops, I haven’t been anywhere or done anything. And a detail from the same postcard:. Filed under: Alaska History.

Saturday, April 30. Signs of summer #3. Unless you guys want more. . .I think this is the last in the "Signs of Summer" series :P. AND in case you can't tell, those little green things are leaves - something that we Alaskans have not seen in far too long. The strange DOF on the branch there is due to another branch being directly in the way, just in case you are wondering ;). Signs of summer #2. This is a little late today, as I was up late last night taking night photographs with Jonathan from. Spring i...

Living In The Great Land. Badger Towing Goes Racing. Sunday, May 29th, 2005. Back in Fairbanks, but had damn little time to blog so far. Brought Dad in on Thursday, but everybody at Badger Towing was gearing up to go racing at the Mitchell Raceway. Motto: “Drive Fast, Turn Left.”) My car needs a little work, but it will have to wait — when the racing season is about to start, nobody at Badger Towing has time for anything but racing (and, well, towing of course). Living In The Great Land. Thursday, May 26th, 2005. In Eagle, posting via painfully slow dialup-over-satellite (the local telephone system connects to the world via satellite, as is common in the Alaskan bush). Data connections here are always very poor. I’d curse the local phone company, but its employees are guys I grew up with. And they shoot better than I do. (Hi, David! Filed under: Alaska Scenery. Living In The Great Land. Friday, May 13th, 2005. Alaska. The Great Land. The Last Frontier. Seward’s Icebox. Seward’s Folly. Why blog about Alaska? My life here isn’t that exciting, but I never grow tired of the setting. It’s worth talking about. I don’t have a romantic outdoorsy profession — I’m not a logger or a fisherman or a gold miner or bush pilot or an oilman or a fur trapper or a park ranger (. Thanks for stopping by!
