Venice Adventures: The Rise and Fall of the Perfect Pumpkin
http://beachcitygirl.blogspot.com/2011/10/rise-and-fall-of-perfect-pumpkin.html
Monday, October 31, 2011. The Rise and Fall of the Perfect Pumpkin. I don't know if it was because I was somewhat deprived of Halloween festivities as a child, but I am into this holiday in a big way now that I'm almost 25. I'm embracing pretty much every Halloween tradition I can get my hands on, including dressing up and watching. I spent pumpkin carving night #1 fretting over my pumpkin, turning it over in my hands, trying to get inspired, and mostly just watching other people carve theirs. Okay, more...

Monday, September 16, 2013. Late Summer is Pie Time, Right? Two weeks ago I went on vacation, well actually, I went on staycation. To be more exact, and it was Glorious. It was so good that everyone who follows me on Instagram. Breathed a huge sigh of relief when I went back to work, because they were starting to get really annoyed with how often I was posting about doing nothing in the middle of the day (I get it. Sorry I'm not Sorry. Anyone who knows me well knows I have an intense love-affair with Fal...

Venice Adventures: How Lucky We Are
http://beachcitygirl.blogspot.com/2013/08/how-lucky-we-are.html
Tuesday, August 6, 2013. How Lucky We Are. It's been a strange few days. I hardly ever get sick, but I'm going on my 2nd day of really. Bad headaches, caused by God-only-knows what, but if anyone suggests that I cut out dairy or gluten, I'm going to go drown myself in a pool of melted ice cream, because I don't want to live in world where I can't have cheese or pasta. Lead to a loss of control of the vehicle, increasing your risk of a crash." So much for go-kart handling. So to lighten it up, here's a fu...

Venice Adventures: Squash Awesomes
http://beachcitygirl.blogspot.com/2013/08/squash-awesomes.html
Monday, August 26, 2013. I love weekends, because there are absolutely no expectations. Well, let me re-phrase, in theory. There are no expectations. I am one of those people who constantly overbooks their schedule with fun things. This weekend it was the Pier Concert to see Nick Waterhouse. I went home, cleaned my apartment, laid around some more, went for a walk, turned on this little mix. Ziploc bags are your friend. Filling them was the hardest part, but once that was done, it was as simple as egg, f...

Monday, September 26, 2011. September has been great for me. I'm having fun at work (shocking, I know), I got to show my paintings in an art show (thanks everyone who came! I sold two paintings, and started volunteering at a juvenile detention facility and helped throw a party for the Nautica Malibu Triathlon. To top it all off, it's finally, finally. Fall and I am stoked. Cause it's Fall y'all! Annalise and me at the Bocce League Finals. Being hipster-y. My little garden of mint and african violets.

Venice Adventures: April 2012
http://beachcitygirl.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 7, 2012. So I think I survived my first week of my new job. I say I think, because I'm not quite convinced that I didn't die in a terrible accident on my way there on Monday and then proceed straight to work-heaven. I know this sounds like an exaggeration, but it's not: this is the Best. Job. Ever. The benefits are great, the views are stunning (see figure 1, which is also my office) there's an employee gym with lockers and showers and towel service and massages(! You work at Wendy's now!

Venice Adventures: August 2011

Monday, August 22, 2011. There are few things I love more than a late summer picnic. But if I had to list the few things I love more, I would say dusk, friends' birthdays, impromptu photo shoots, old western towns, picnic baskets, and sparkling wine. Last night I got to have all of those things. Has ever been in. Luckily, my friend Caitlin suffered through that tribulation with me, and we both left in a foul morbid mood. Sometimes that's all you need. Paramount Ranch is a little slice of heaven. There's ...
