Because our quilts are a reflection of the times in which we live. Thursday, November 20, 2014. On The Road to California 2015. This picture was taken at the Best of the Valley Quilt Show in April. Links to this post. Sunday, November 16, 2014. This weekend was mostly spent over-dying fabrics and correcting some piecing. Nothing like saturated colors and very sharp points! The piece of hand-dyed fabric that I over-dyed with ice and maroon Procion powder made me happy. Finally, I tackled that set of point...

Because our quilts are a reflection of the times in which we live. Monday, August 25, 2014. Elaine's Quilt Block, Salt Lake City, UT. Of course, I headed to the other big room that was filled with bold batiks and modern prints. This lively piece of batik found it's way into my shopping bag. That's boring. I really would rather quilt than eat. I will post the snapshots of the Asian blocks later. In the meantime, if you are in Salt Lake City. 6970 South 3000 East. Salt Lake City, UT 84121. I can't think of a better way to end this month than to report that the majority of Nancy's stolen quilts were returned by a mysterious man. Rather than paraphrase her words, I cut and pasted her joyful post from Facebook:. Amazing news to report. A man in a van pulls up in front of my studio. He comes in and I ask "May I help you." Quiltedtime: Hand Dyed Scarves
http://quiltedtimeposts.blogspot.com/2014/12/hand-dyed-scarves.html
Because our quilts are a reflection of the times in which we live. Saturday, December 27, 2014. These are some of the scarves I have hand dyed as of late. Some were Christmas gifts, so I had to wait to post pictures. I did not wrap them but let the recipient choose among several scarves. Without fail, they chose exactly the one I predicted. This is one I chose for myself. December 27, 2014 at 9:48 PM. Wow - I like the stripe on the one in the top picture. Fun but messy job. December 28, 2014 at 4:00 PM.

Quiltedtime: Replenishing Your Garden Soil
http://quiltedtimeposts.blogspot.com/2012/12/replenishing-your-garden-soil_1.html
Because our quilts are a reflection of the times in which we live. Saturday, December 1, 2012. Replenishing Your Garden Soil. My first basic advice is to try not to plant the same kind of crop in the same place two seasons in a row. Each kind of vegetable draws their specific requirements from the soil, and they also attract their own pests. Moving your crops around in the garden is a good way to give your garden soil a chance to rebuild, and also, to thwart garden pests. December 1, 2012 at 6:31 PM.
