Tuesday, April 27, 2010. Esabisia (how did you sleep)? I slept VERY well! Overall, it was a very interesting and excellent experience, but it was definitely NOT without a plethora of awkward moments! First, we really had no idea the proper way to act around the chief. One of the funniest parts for me was after the chief first started talking, the other men at the front starting clapping at one put. Monday, April 26, 2010. Hello friends and family! I then returned home where I showered, ate breakfast, took my anti-malaria medication and then headed back to the hospital for am rounds. Rounds were good this morning. I discharged most of my children today. One child who had severe respiratory distress was singing for me this morning! 1) Child with a slow growing facial tumor of which a biopsy was done and sent to the US. Sunday, May 2, 2010. Last day in Nalerigu to Iowa. A Peace Corps worker visited this community around a year ago and had some extra beads from which she taught the women to make necklaces. She then brought the completed necklaces back to the US to be sold. We were visiting the village to return the money she had received from the jewelry she had made. The women were so happy!
