Royalists on the right, Parliamentarians on the left, and the wall will be behind the Roundheads for them to withdraw behind as the Cavaliers storm the hill. Marks Gaming Blog: After Action Report; ACW (Longstreet battle 6) 1 November 2015
http://marksgamingblog.blogspot.com/2015/11/after-action-report-acw-longstreet.html
Monday, 2 November 2015. After Action Report; ACW (Longstreet battle 6) 1 November 2015. This was the 6. Battle (late 1863) of a 9 battle mini-campaign using Longstreet rules by Sam Mustafa (Honour Publishing). I was again commanding the Union force against Ian commanding the Rebels. Previously in the mini-campaign I was ahead by 4 victories to 1 defeat, and in each battle the defending force had won. Would the pattern continue? Ian choose the second option and focused on my centre left sector. Subscribe...

Marks Gaming Blog: Off the Painting Table (Nov 2015); part 2
http://marksgamingblog.blogspot.com/2015/11/off-painting-table-nov-2015-part-2.html
Monday, 16 November 2015. Off the Painting Table (Nov 2015); part 2. The Kings of War painting binge continues, this time I have completed a few units of Dwarves! Whereas the Goblin figures only came to life when the eyes and teeth were painted on, the Dwarves livened up only when the metallic paints were added. I have not gone for a ‘uniform’ look and instead used a variety of colours on individual figures. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Off the Painting Table (Nov 2015).

Mercurius Atticus: March 2015
http://mercuriusatticus.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
OR A TRUE RELATION OF STRANGE PROCEEDINGS IN A SOMERSETSHIRE LOFT. Sunday, 22 March 2015. SIR BRUTUS BUCK'S REGIMENT. After the excitement of castle building, it's back to churning out 54mm ECW figures for the Lansdown campaign. Here we have the splendidly named Cornish royalist regiment, Sir Brutus Buck's. All A Call to Arms figures except the officer. I'm not sure what make he is, but he looks very much like the seargeant on the cover of the Airfix English Civil War book. OR A TRUE RELATION OF STRANGE PROCEEDINGS IN A SOMERSETSHIRE LOFT. Saturday, 29 November 2014. Here we have the first part of Army Red for my Funny Little Wigs project, Colonel Horace Bampfield's Regiment AKA 'The Fighting Pelicans'. The regiment in array. Uncle Toby puts the sentinels through their paces. The Grenadiers bearing Bampfield's Pelican on their mitre. The colours (pre 1707). Dr Hare, the Duke's chaplain blesses the colours whilst the regiment sing a toast to the duke. Almanza was the word.

Mercurius Atticus: SIR BEVIL GRENVILLE'S REGIMENT
http://mercuriusatticus.blogspot.com/2015/06/sir-bevil-grenvilles-regiment.html
OR A TRUE RELATION OF STRANGE PROCEEDINGS IN A SOMERSETSHIRE LOFT. Monday, 29 June 2015. SIR BEVIL GRENVILLE'S REGIMENT. Grenville's Cornish regiment, which gained fame at the Battle of Lansdown. Sir Bevil Grenvile's stand of pikes, which certainly preserved our army from a total rout with the loss of his most precious life:they stood as upon the eaves of a house for steepness, but as unmoveable as a rock.". Firing Musketeers by Replicants, others and pike by A Call to Arms. Labels: 54mm English Civil War.

http://marksgamingblog.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Sunday, 24 May 2015. Off the Painting Table (May 2015) part 2. I’ve done it! My Teutonic forces completed in less than month! My idea of painting all the white cloth before painting the other areas paid off. Apart from the chainmail and armour there was so little to add. I am especially pleased with the foot spearmen because the shield designs really accentuate the figures. The flag also stands out. War of the Roses. Baltic Pagan MAA Foot. Baltic Pagan MAA Horse. Mercurius Atticus: ROYALIST DRAGOONS
http://mercuriusatticus.blogspot.com/2015/06/royalist-dragoons.html
OR A TRUE RELATION OF STRANGE PROCEEDINGS IN A SOMERSETSHIRE LOFT. Thursday, 25 June 2015. I'm not sure if Maurice's dragoons were present at Lansdown, but as the prince himself was it seems feasible. Coat colours are unknown as far as I am aware so I plumped for a rich royal blue. The Royalist dragoons were severely outnumbered at the battle. This gaudy popinjay was also missing a leg so a milliput limb was whipped up. I'm not very good at sculpting, but it will suffice. Mercurius Atticus: February 2015
http://mercuriusatticus.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
OR A TRUE RELATION OF STRANGE PROCEEDINGS IN A SOMERSETSHIRE LOFT. Monday, 16 February 2015. PRINCE MAURICE OF THE PALATINATE. Nominally the commander of the Royal forces at Lansdown, I generally don't mind Prince Maurice, despite me being a rampant Parliamentarian. A better chap than his frightful brother Rupert. I'm sure he would have been mounted, but a dearth of mounted command figures has forced him to go on foot. Labels: 54mm English Civil War. Thursday, 12 February 2015. I painted them to look lik...
