Cycling debate needs data. On Oct 12, 2014. Comments (0). If we are to understand why TfL assumes some projects work better than others, we need to see the workings. I asked at the London Cycling Campaign. Has not been released. Why would we want this data? Cyclists observe that shifting people onto bikes reduces pressure on public transport and private cars, and is likely to help reduce vehicle traffic. It is unclear how much TfL accept this argument when calculating road use changes. If you're looking ...

A dangerous moment for London’s cyclists. Sadiq Khan has made a big political impression in London. He has learnt from Labour’s recent failures that you have to define yourself, before your enemies define you. As Mayor, his first days were full of announcements on bus fares, air pollution and the Garden Bridge. He has sounded like he is pushing serious policies to deliver important transport and related air pollution improvements. What was missing was anything on cycling. May 21, 2016. May 10, 2016.

Former East Germany and the route to Prague. Posted on Sep 01, 2013 by JimKillock. I took the train from Prague to Amsterdam, then the ferry back from Rotterdam, just because it seemed the easiest route. The European overnight trains are a pretty slick operation, with parts of trains leaving and joining in different cities, so the train I was on divided and a section went to Copenhagen, and when it arrived in Amsterdam, a new part had joined from Poland. The Symbiotic Web blog. My thoughts and stories relating to privacy, autonomy, human rights, law and the web. There was an error in this gadget. Friday, 30 September 2011. News has emerged this week that Phorm, the online-behavioural-advertising company about whom a great deal has been written (including by me) has targeted a new country for its latest attempt to track internet users’ every move: Romania. Phorm failed in the UK, and I for one am very glad that they did. I hope the same happens in Rom...
