Jack and Jo in Chile. What we've been up to lately. We've been pretty busy since we got back from our summer trip in February. Our German friends Thomas and Kathryn, who we bumped into various times while we were traveling, came to stay with us in Vina for a few days, before heading north. We showed them around Vina and Valparaiso - here we are on one of the ascensores. A typical "asado" (roast or barbeque) at Clay and Petra's party. Here's Jo in the living room- see the balcony? We stayed in a cabin at the rustic and whimsical Cabanas Hermansen with a group of friends to celebrate Margaret's 29th birthday ( wink wink. Jack and Jo in Chile. A Day in Horcon. Then we headed to Horcon, a small coastal town best known for its hippie community and nude beaches, but also well known for its incredible empanada and seafood restaurants. We ordered a round of jaiba and queso empanadas (crab and cheese), which run about $2 each. Delicious! After the meal we headed to Playa Cau Cau to watch the sun set. We got some dreamy photos and it was a great end to the day. We will definitely be back there again soon. DJ Set at Cafe Journal.
