After that, we drove back to the city up to a view point where we had Turkish tea at outside terraced restaurant It was quite strong, but very drinkable. Other than the historical significance of the conference I was not particularly impressed with the palaces ...

Friday, October 30, 2009. Our guide told us the Black Sea was originally a fresh water lake. Geologists now speculate that the sea was formed when water pressure from the Mediterranean Sea caused a rupture of the rock and it started pouring into the Black Sea gobbling up land at the rate of a mile a day. It is thought that this may be the basis for the story of Noah and the Flood! The Bosporus now flows in the opposite direction with a current that runs up to six knots into the Med. We sat in the Mosque ...

Saturday, October 24, 2009. October 24 - We just finished two days in Istanbul. More about that later. Suffice for now to say it was more wonderful experiences. Following is the blog for as far as I have finished it. October 13th – Ephesus. Now it was down the hill a bit to the upper gate of the ancient city of Ephesus. The first impression on entering is, “My gosh, these ruins go on forever.” The completeness of the ruins is astonishing and the restorations and/or replacements (some ...Walking down the ...

Thursday, October 1, 2009. Alexis and I are safely arrived in Athens about 17 hours after leaving LA. Our arrival at the airport was 8:40 am local. After taking a taxi to our hotel in downtown Athens and getting checked in, freshened up and ready to do some touring it is nearly noon. Our ride i n from the airport took about a half hour. It was a pleasent trip; the driver very friendly and informative. The cost, with tip, was 48 euro (about $77.00). Labels: Athens - Day 1. At Sea - Day 2.

Jim in the Matrix. Collections of writings, ramblings and rants). Welcome to my Blog! Bull;January 23, 2012 • Leave a Comment. Hi There, and thank you for dropping by. This is my feeble attempt at writing and blogging. I’ve decided to utilize WordPress rather than other popular social networking because while those other sites are great for staying current with family and friends, they should not, in my opinion, be used as a soap box or pulpit.
