Poetry (& Other Things) by James Croal Jackson. My Father Was a Beekeeper. August 24, 2016. August 23, 2016. I always knew my father was allergic to bees. But it wasn’t until his obituary. I learned he was once a beekeeper. In those days, I hear, he prayed. To his veil only to re-emerge, hours later,. Having danced with God. Under every umber swarm. He was a gifted storyteller. But it wasn’t until his stroke. At seventy-four made me listen,. When his mouth betrayed his brain. So, heaven in the soft petals.

Poetry (& Other Things) by James Croal Jackson. July 22, 2015. July 13, 2015. Starlight is not equal in the petroleum sky. Homes know the ocean. But not their owners cliff’s edge. Striated fireworks stake and fall,. Hurriedly carted by fragile marbles. Oil salts the earth to lust. A red akin to blood. And romance seen in films,. And burrowed for the claw. Of the excavator, millionaire muck. Gushed from leaking faucets. The piping is consistent:. The toilets flush twice to be sure. 8211; Issue #4).

The Literary Commune: Advertising in The Literary Commune
http://theliterarycommune.blogspot.com/p/advertising-in-literary-commune.html
The Literary Commune is a free bi-monthly litzine showcasing work by fresh, edgy writers and poets. Advertising in The Literary Commune. Is a free litzine, produced by an altruistic team based in the UK. It costs a lot of money to print and distribute TLC. The ethos of our litzine is that we do not charge people for a copy. It is distributed for free. We end up with a lot of "white space" in the magazine, where stories end, and so it makes sense to place an advert there. What adverts do we take? Just dro...

A Walk Through Palms - The Quotable 17 – Atmosphere - The quarterly publication of quotable writers
http://issue17.thequotablelit.com/poetry/a-walk-through-palms
Laquo; Back to thequotablelit.com. A Walk Through Palms. By James Croal Jackson. When there’s nothing special about a sunset. Lined with palms, there is nothing special. Trees jut from behind roofs. Like green skinny beanstalks extended forever. Every plane a UFO. Breathe the collective breaths of everyone. Walks should be alone,. Watching crows circle majestically. Above stacks of garbage. Bags in shopping carts. Soon there are words:. First a sweeping hush,. Then the revving of neighbors.

James Croal Jackson | Poet / Editor
The Mantle Poetry Journal. March 28, 2018. July 16, 2017. I have convinced myself. All birds fly as soon as they see sky. I know each wing on each one. Grounded I tend to speak aluminum. From the grand piano of my throat. It is a sunny thirty. The sun beams over a painting. Of a palm supporting an oak. Believe me I want my tongue. To bloom good petals. I cannot get enough of being. Imagine a single light. At the far end of a cave. So faint you must remember. Play flat notes detuned. I want the truth.
