Jim Pearman started learning the cello at school when he was sixteen. He progressed quickly and became principal cello of the Gloucestershire Schools Orchestra. He went on to be play with the London Junior Orchestra. While living in Belgium, jim was a member of the Broucsella Symphony Orchestra (Brussels) and Akademos (Ghent). Currently plays with. He currently plays on a beautiful hand-made instrument by J B Lemoine of Antwerp.

He qualified for the Archbishops' Certificate in Church Music (ACertCM) in 1990 and received his certificate from Archbishop Robert Runcie. Most recently he was a member of the choir of St Andrew's Church of Scotland in Brussels. And is now a member of the choir of St Mary and All Saints, Kidderminster.

Jim Pearman was appointed as the Town crier for Kidderminster on 15th June 2006. His long experience as a singer meant that when it came to projecting his voice, he beat all comers. Jim is available for events and celebrations as Town crier or Toastmaster. Jim is a popular speaker on the topic of "History of Town Crying" for various groups and societies.
