Without a Map: April 2007

http://jimsabbatical.blogspot.com/2007_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 29, 2007. Now on to Turkey and Crete. Stay tuned for the next blog installment. Labels: back from India. Before 1967 when the Indian government allowed the Dali Lama to set up his Tibetan government in exile, this town was a tiny abandoned British hill station, a place where Europeans would flee to, escaping the brutal heat of the plains summers. Now it felt like Provincetown on a summer afternoon, only with an undercurrent of despair. Tuesday, April 17, 2007. Tuesday, April 3, 2007.

Without a Map: Nainital

Tuesday, March 27, 2007. Some of my favorite places are the open air markets; there are several including a Tibetan market. Walking by the spice stalls I’m reminded of how Christopher Columbus searched for the Indies in part to find the spices. It was in the oldest of the markets that it happened. Someone tried to pick my pocket! And it wasn't even subtle, it was a hard bump! Have fun but not too much fun. March 30, 2007 at 4:06 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Chennia, Agra, and onto Nianital.

Tuesday, April 3, 2007. I am signed up for a ten day silent retreat and class called introduction to Buddhism, (no I'm not converting, and yes I probably can't keep quiet for ten days). My goal is to go deeper into who God is for me.has the face of God changed any since my sojourn in India? So far it has been a fantastic, challenging, and blessed trip. There is so much for me to share. Blessings to you all. Stay safe and we miss you! April 5, 2007 at 5:16 PM. Happy Easter, Jim! The Lord is risen indeed!

Without a Map: February 2007

http://jimsabbatical.blogspot.com/2007_02_01_archive.html

Sunday, February 18, 2007. Leaving Homestead, arriving in Key Largo,. Wednesday, February 7, 2007. As I prepare for the begining of my sabbatical I am reminded of pilgrims of old. Often times pilgrimages would last for years, and the chances of those who were on them returning were slim. It seems to me that there must have been considerable thought about what to take, what to leave and what to sell. Labels: Pre sabbatical thoughts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Up the creek WITH a paddle (for a change).

Lately, more of it has been coming out in comments at other places. And I still find myself wrestling with it. I have had some really awful things happen to me over the years at the hands of people who ostensibly loved me. And I don’t want to talk about them in public because they still have the power to make my life pretty miserable. 124; 3 Comments.

Jim Sabo's Home Page

Welcome to my crappy home page! Let's face it, I do this stuff for a living. I don't have time to maintain a home page. On the other hand, since I do this stuff for a living, it's damn tempting to grab a whole bunch of code that I already wrote for other people, and put up a bunch of silly stuff, like a chat room, BBS, etc etc etc. But I think that can be safely avoided. Instead, I'll go with some pretty safe, boring stuff. at least for now. Bout time I updated the page, eh? Out Neat, eh? It's blue. ...
