Monday, February 25, 2013. Jim Stratton was born in 1905 at Broadwater on the Richmond River in New South Wales. He married Miriam Medsen while in England in 1932. He worked for the NSW Fire Brigade in the 1920s, worked as a policeman in New Guinea and the Solomon Islands in the 1930s. He served in World War 2 in Europe and Africa, being evacuated from Dunkirk in 1940. This is his story:. Jim served in the NSW Fire Brigade in the 1920s discharging in 1927.
