A View From Our Life: Brody is here!!
http://jonandchaeli.blogspot.com/2012/02/brody-is-here.html
Thursday, February 16, 2012. Stats: Brody O'Neill Ackerman. 7 lbs 11 oz. Born at 8:29, Methodist Willowbrook Hospital. Cuter than you can even imagine. All that to say, we are grateful to God. Grateful for a good delivery, grateful that my water broke and I went into labor (instead of last time), grateful he's a good nurser, grateful I am healing well, and grateful that I'm no longer pregnant! Those last 3 weeks were a doozy. I hope to tell the birth story soon, especially so I don't forget any of it!

Lorens had fun getting tickled by his cousin Cade, playing in a tent outside, and swimming. A few random pictures of Lorens. He loves to make faces on our glass door at Josh.

Over our stay, my parents babysat for us for the first time - it was nice to be away from Lorens for a couple hours.but also very sad! This Thanksgiving I was so thankful for my new little love, as well as my husband who takes such good care of both of us. Also so thankful for my mom. Here are a couple pictures from our thanksgiving week.

A View From Our Life: Hospital Photos
http://jonandchaeli.blogspot.com/2012/02/hospital-photos.html
Wednesday, February 29, 2012. We had Brody at Methodist Willowbrook Hospital about 10 minutes down the road from us (hooray for a short drive to the hospital! We were thoroughly impressed with the hospital and really recommend it! Because labor came fast and furious, we parked the car in the front of the hospital with all our bags and hurried in. So we didn't have our camera with us at the birth. Thank God for smart phones! The Emerts meeting Brody. Someone needs to be nursed. So glad I had a second ...

A View From Our Life: Gestational Diabetes
http://jonandchaeli.blogspot.com/2012/01/gestational-diabetes.html
Sunday, January 1, 2012. Basically, in women who have GD, hormones from the placenta block the action of the mother's insulin in her body (insulin resistance). This makes it harder for the mama to use the insulin. GD starts when your body isn't able to make (and use) enough insulin it needs. Without the insulin, the glucose cannot be changed to energy and builds up in the blood to high levels. Here and there and it hasn't effected anything so that's good. :). 1 Love the picture. You look beautiful! Im en...

Friday, September 30, 2011. Ackerbaby #2 is a BOY! I thought I'd be a little disappointed if it was a boy, but honestly, I'm surprised to say that I'm super excited! I love the idea of two boys, two brothers, being close together in age. They're going to share a room and this little man can wear a lot of Brennan's hand me downs. Woo hoo! February 1st. I'm short, these babies don't have anymore room to grow, so they decide to come out (that's my very-scientific hypothesis). :). Links to this post. When I ...

I'm just sayin is all. How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world. a.f. Saturday, January 10, 2009. Lorens had his 2 month check-up yesterday, and I realized how much he is growing up! Here is what he is doing now. Smiling and cooing and "laughing" all the time - we love to make him smile. Sticks his tongue in and out when we wiggle ours at him.thanks dad for teaching him this! Sucks his hands and thumbs. Smiles and squirms when we play patty cake.
