On the Waters Round Mull | Jinja Coo

https://jinjacoo.wordpress.com/2015/07/14/on-the-waters-round-mull

Jaunts and Adventures in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and Further Afield. Laquo; Carn Mor Dearg. Puffin Away at the Farnes. On the Waters Round Mull. With very few weekends free for play in the past few months, a paddle on a Friday was a real bonus after some earlier ‘business’, on Mull of all places. Ben Hiant from Tobermory. From the water I got a new perspective on the coastline extending from Kilchoan along past Mingarry Castle ( under major renovation. And Ben Hiant to Camas nan Geall.

Jaunts and Adventures in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and Further Afield. Laquo; A Misty Easter Eigg Hunt. On the Waters Round Mull. Wintry weather had been blasted at the hills in the previous week and with a planned group walk up Carn Mor Dearg and Ben Nevis approaching, a friend wanted to check out the state of snow on the hills ahead of that group’s day out. Despite spells of sunshine and warmth, when out of the breeze, it wasn’t very springlike this May day. With tags Carn Mor Dearg. May 14...

Jaunts and Adventures in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and Further Afield. Laquo; Blair Atholl Bike n’ Hike. A Misty Easter Eigg Hunt. A long weekend of paddling, first in to Knoydart then over to Skye, onwards to Eigg and round Muck, before returning to our starting point of Mallaig. From Doune, we took a bearing and headed through the mist to … the misty Isle, Skye. Buildings eventually came in to view and the Armadale – Mallaig ferry provided an extra point of reference for our...Back to loade...

Puffin Away at the Farnes | Jinja Coo

https://jinjacoo.wordpress.com/2015/07/20/puffin-away-at-the-farnes

Jaunts and Adventures in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and Further Afield. Laquo; On the Waters Round Mull. Down the Kelvin, Up the Clyde. Puffin Away at the Farnes. It was spring tides at the Farnes, which leads to fast flowing streams between the islands, but largely we were untroubled by them and even got some assistance on our return journey. By then though, it was hard to tell with tiredness setting in. This entry was posted on July 20, 2015 at 7:32 am and is filed under Paddling.

http://seakayakphoto.blogspot.com/2015/08/caught-between-midges-and-reefs-on.html

Sea kayaking with seakayakphoto.com. Imagine you are at the edge of the sea on a day when it is difficult to say where the land ends and the sea begins and where the sea ends and the sky begins. Sea kayaking lets you explore these and your own boundaries and broadens your horizons. Sea kayaking is the new mountaineering. Sunday, August 09, 2015. Caught between midges and reefs on Inchmarnock, a hard place. Mike and I rose early on Inchmarnock. Unfortunately so did the midges and we fled to the shore.

Mountain and Sea Scotland: A seabird spectacle at Fowlsheugh

http://mountainandseascotland.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-seabird-spectacle-at-fowlsheugh.html

Mountain and Sea Scotland. Hillwalking and Sea Kayaking in Scotland. Wednesday, 20 May 2015. A seabird spectacle at Fowlsheugh. A short distance to the south of Stonehaven. The cliffs here are indented by a couple of deep geos which give great views right into the heart of the seabird colonies. The air is a blizzard of wheeling birds at this time of year; dazzling black-and-white against a blue sea. With colourful wildflowers and lichens adding splashes of brilliance to the green of the clifftops. The sh...
