And so we begin..: Photography 08
http://dayna-andsowebegin.blogspot.com/2008/03/photography.html
Thursday, March 6, 2008. These are some photograms that I made in photography on Tuesday (March 4th) They turned out less clear than the first lot I made, which is probably due to the fact I used out of date paper. Any suggestions anyone? It was alot of fun. I used a different series of objects than last time which also affected how they turned out, because these objects were more solid, they allowed less light to pass through, changing the overall effect. Nice work I like the compositions.

And so we begin..: April 2008

Tuesday, April 15, 2008. At present my obsession is people. And I don't see that waning anytime. During my year off school i was working as a waitress and I discovered that I LOVE PEOPLE! They are so diverse and interesting. I love developing relationships with people, even if its based on me making them coffee everyday. There is so much potential and unique character in each individual. Honest here.wait for it. I don't like art galleries! There are more important things in life. I generally only go ...

And so we begin..: Installation 06
http://dayna-andsowebegin.blogspot.com/2008/03/installation-06.html
Friday, March 7, 2008. So the light globe in the centre represents God, in His pure essence. And the webs/gladwrap/string/foam/etc represent different religions, science and individual ideas of God. The arrow of lights represents the church, each light being an individual member, and working together they direct people to the truth. They are all different colours because every person is unique. I found when we had the exhibition people were a little dumbfounded as to what the work was actually about....

Friday, March 14, 2008. These are some drawings from my Monday morning drawing class with George. The top image is a lifedrawing (obviously) using a technique of blocking out the whole page in a midtone, then rubbing in the highlights using an eraser, then working into the shadows/shading using charcoal. It is really fun and helps to get a sense of form and weight in the figure. Friday, March 7, 2008. Looking back, there are many things I'd love to change to communicate my ideas more effectively. But...

And so we begin..: Botanical Gardens Arpil 08
http://dayna-andsowebegin.blogspot.com/2008/04/these-are-some-of-many-photos-i-took-at.html
Tuesday, April 15, 2008. Botanical Gardens Arpil 08. These are some of the many photos I took at the Botanical Gardens on our excursion last week. It was such a relaxing day. I developed a bit of a fascination with capturing trees. They are so magnificent and arch over you. I feel so secure underneath the branches. But I think its really difficult to capture that in one photograph. Dayna the tree images are good. It'll be great to watch you develop over the next two years. April 16, 2008 at 8:05 AM.

And so we begin..: Digital Studio
http://dayna-andsowebegin.blogspot.com/2008/06/digital-studio.html
Friday, June 6, 2008. In Digital Studio class we had to design a CD cover based on the drawings/photographs etc collected on our Botanical Gardens excursion. I was sick the day we printed them off in class, so I thought I'd post mine here so George (my teacher) can see it, and the rest of my lovely fans reading this.haha! I fiddled around with levels and colour balance. Its pretty basic, but I like it that way. I think sometimes you can go a bit nuts and overwork an image. June 11, 2008 at 10:16 AM.
