Friday, June 20, 2008. Day 3 : An Apple was Born. Joshua is doing great. We are so blessed to have such a good little traveler. Our day started with everyone getting to sleep in. Joshua awoke about 7:30am stating, "It's morning Mommy, time to get up! Wow what a different perspective than what we have been use to for 13 years! What a family moment! Good luck tomorrow at the border crossing! Those pictures are amazing by the way, even to a city boy like me! June 20, 2008 at 6:57 PM. Day 6: We rested.

Alaska Bound: 1 Day Down!

Wednesday, June 18, 2008. Well the first day is complete and we are in Nephi, Utah approx. 330 miles into our trip. So far we are traveling at a top speed of 52-54 mph w/ the trailers! Talk about the turtle and the tortoise going down the highway that is us. We had a completely safe trip today! Answered prayer:) We took off about 5am this morning and drove about 8 1/2 hrs w/ 4 stops. The Honda is averaging about 13 MPG, and the Toyota is averaging about 10 MPG (check out those stats Clint! Okay so a double post for the day. it is 9:16pm here and we are 7 hrs away from leaving, just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to our friends the Ottingers for the great last night in Vegas! Sunday, June 22, 2008. Day 4: AWESOME CROSSING! Okay we worried so much about crossing the border and it took the total time of 5 Minutes. thanks to the wise sense of selling our shotgun prior to leaving! No unpacking had to be done. The guard was very nice and generous to us! Didn't get his name but a quick shout out to him.THANK YOU MR. BORDER CROSSING MAN! So we are in Red Deer, Alberta Canada. We stayed at a Western Budget Hotel last night and it was AMAZING! Yes maybe I had a blonde moment!

Wednesday, June 25, 2008. Day 7: Our first Alaska Highway Experience. Day 7: We traveled from Dawson Creek to Fort Nelson. Enroute we had our first moose sighting! It was a very large mother moose with her baby, they were climbing around a curve on a hill. It was very exciting! We stayed the night at a nice hotel called the Woodlands Inn. For lunch we pulled into a public camping park and enjoyed our brown bag special of Peanut butter, honey, and banana sandwiches, with chips, and canned fruit!
