Tuesday, September 30, 2008. We went to a long, exciting birthday party on Sunday. Before the party, Elliot got his first "big boy" bath in the tub with Rory and Daisy! He loved it. They liked pouring water on his feet :). The party was crazy! There was a bounce house, a pinata, a million kids, and tons and tons of food! Elliot got passed around to all the moms, aunts, and grandmas.and a few of the dads and uncles too! He was very popular and it wore him out completely! Daisy just drew her first picture!

Sunday, June 14, 2009. Our field trip for today:. Fossils, fossils, and more fossils. Even, yes, that DOES say "Fossil Dinosaur Poop! Surprisingly, this was the only one that my kids found frightening. It's a giant turtle. Ok, it's REALLY big, 15 feet across and 11 feet long, but it's still a turtle! Megalodon teeth, though? They have a big hands-on play room with all kinds of cool activities. Elliot was mostly excited to be allowed out of the stroller for a while. Daisy found a sand shark tooth. I am a ...

Saturday, May 30, 2009. The other day, Rory looked out the window and saw Grandpa. He announced, "I see Grandpa! He has also recently figured out division in his head. He told me that if he gets thirty high 5s in karate, he'll have six stripes on his belt. He needs five for each stripe. When I asked him how he figured that out, he just gave me an "isn't it OBVIOUS? Tuesday, October 28, 2008. Some of my homeschooling friends let us know about Monterey Bay Aquarium's free homeschooler's day. Ok, technically we're not homeschoolers, but we do supplement Rory's school education at home, since kindergarten in general is pretty boring for him. And Rory LOVES sharks and aquariums, so we couldn't pass up a free trip, since we could never afford to take him there otherwise. They had a blast of course. The Aquarium has tons of activities for kids. Sea dragons are so cool!

This is Rory's letter to his friend Wes, who recently fell and broke his leg. :( The reason I needed to share this though was that it is the longest thing that Rory has ever written ALL BY HIMSELF! Usually he needs confirmation after every letter that he is spelling or writing things correctly, and needs lots of suggestions on what to say. This one he came up with on his own and wrote on his own! All the spelling was independent, and only one word was incorrect! Me and my babies.
