~~ Comfortably Numb ~~: March 2008
http://kumar-palan.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Saturday, March 15, 2008. Of 'guilt at the stoppages' and megapixel rains. Its a nice sunday afternoon and you are just done with a family lunch. Then you get to your fav place in the drawing room and get glued to the television. It hasnt been a few minutes of visual joy, when the screen goes abruptly still! Much like the blue screen of death in Windows) And then there is a flash with the very familiar words:. Rukawat ke liye khed hai'. These were just a few...

Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Monday, May 19, 2008. Football, flying and the feeling of irony. Excuse the bad alliteration in the subject line, but its for want of a better phrase. 21st May, 2008, the biggest football match of this season in Europe will unfold. Mancheter United take on Chelsea FC. The 2 best English teams of today will fight out the highest trophy in Europe. Its already assured that an English club will be the Champion of the continent. ~~ Comfortably Numb ~~: February 2009
http://kumar-palan.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Friday, February 27, 2009. This article on a prominent travel site did not surprise me a bit. I'd mentioned in the previous posts how there were 'Slum tours' being conducted in Mumbai. This one just reaffirms it and says,. Mumbai, and particularly its 175-acre shantytown Dharavi, are experiencing a boost in tourism.'. Slumdog Millionare is now in the league of masterpieces like. The Sound of Music. I'm wondering what we'd say to this. Links to this post.

Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Sunday, February 07, 2010. While I was away. Here's what the world was searching for. And must say we Indians need some image building exercise in the world. But hey, before you say either 'Holy shit' or 'We are like this only', the Western world is not spared from convenient stereotyping either. Here's what the world thinks about Les Français! Kumar-palan.blogspot.com; You saved my day again. Tuesday, 16 February, 2010. Sunday, 21 February, 2010.

Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Sunday, February 28, 2010. So Team India wins their inaugural match at the World Cup! Seriously, guys - how many of us know about. Not the new generation born in the 90's surely. But I digress. This first win is what counts, and is a great performance by the team. Specially after all the disputes between the team and the federation that happened all these weeks earlier. I'll say this again, lest you missed it - yes, they were served Chivda! This gives an ide...

~~ Comfortably Numb ~~: Olympic Gold Quest
http://kumar-palan.blogspot.com/2012/08/olympic-gold-quest.html
Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Tuesday, August 14, 2012. Sigh The Olympics are over. After the grandiose Moulin Rouge style mash-up extravaganza that was served up in the closing ceremony (Jessie J performing with Queen? Its time to reflect on India's participation in the games. But after 'liking' Facebook pictures of our medal winners of course :). Who is a disappointment to the offices he holds. But surely more is expected out of them. As the foreign coach put it. Thursday, July 26, 2007. Jo jo na sajavta kaanch na sapna tamari aankhon ma. This one is for my friend Ram. I remember Signing his autograph book with 4 lines, 2 of my own and 2 lines (I am not sure who wrote it) that made me think of poetry as a medium of expression. The one that startedd my love for poetry is,. Koi Na Uday Ma Hu Thai Jau Asht, Evu Shadbhagya Hoi kyathi,. Pame na Koi Asht Mara Uday Na tane, Bas etluj chahu chhu. Kisi ke uday ke lie ho jau mein Asht, Kaha hogi itni sadnaseebi (meri),.

~~ Comfortably Numb ~~: Underdog Millionare
http://kumar-palan.blogspot.com/2009/01/underdog-millionare.html
Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Friday, January 30, 2009. Much has been said about Slumdog Millionare already. The movie is entertaining, yes. But is it extraordinary enough to sweep the oscars? I don’t think so. However, from a superiority point-of-view, I don’t think the movie should be a huge oscar winner. Even ARR who’s got 2 nominations, has done much more brilliant works compared with the mediocare soundtrack (by ARR standards). Monday, 23 February, 2009. Aaj kumar ghar pe jaakar sha...

Life (or something like it) through my lenses. Tuesday, December 30, 2008. Year Two Thousand and Nine. So an eventful year comes to an end. So what was it be this time? Salzburg - the land of Mozart and the Von Trapps (remember the Sound of Music? After a good 3 days and a hugely overjoyed wife. We both are back to home, although not without a considerable hangover which (obviously) wants the vacations to never end. Its that time of the year. The aftereffects of too much beer. And you say instead. Politi...
