Tuesday, June 21, 2011. First day of Texas Archey work. Today was the first day of my new job as an archaeological field technician for HDR, Inc. I am employed with a full-time temporary position for at least two months. About damn time! It was a quick hire since the project started last week, offer came in Thursday night, signed paper work on Friday and started on Monday. My bed is on wheels! They all look so nasty, yet colorful. Thursday, July 7, 2011. Everything in Texas can harm you in some way. I have more minor cuts on my legs from this than anything. Somehow it doesn't rip my pants but cuts deep enough in my skin to make me bleed. So weird. The first week out here there was a horde (no, seriously! But I am sure so fattening. Wednesday, September 29, 2010. I didn't think much of this when I clicked on it to listen and watch. I watch a lot of ted talks every week and listen to NPR almost every day, so I thought this would be like any other. It, however, was most certainly not. Have a watch (it's about 18 minutes long):. Monday, October 25, 2010. Great Basin Anthropological Conference 2010. This past week was the (above mentioned) Great Basin Anthropological Conference. I volunteered (so I got in free, booyah! And spent all of my time at the registration desk and stuffing printed name cards into these handy little holders. Normally they are just a plastic holder but this year the GBAC (and thanks to Lori Hunsaker) they went one step further! Everett Ruess: look him up- plenty of info out there! Wednesday, August 31, 2011. That is what I have been with this lately. Oh well, better late than never! For 6 weeks it was nice to get home and have the apartment all to myself! And all clean. Jonathan was in CA with his parents when I got home. I am staying in Utah this week doing some work for my dad and starting the apartment hunt. Yes, that's right! Jonathan and I are moving to SL,UT! Being without health insurance* right now I can empathize where some of these ladies are coming from, especially where some are after birth control for medical reasons- not for preventing pregnancy.
