Funny you make mention about whether Atlas was getting his own book or not, because I remember first discovering this house ad in a large collection of DC books I bought from a friend of mine in high school during the winter of 1988 or so.

That featured an amalgam of DC characters. I would love to know why some American titles made it over to other countries, and others were created especially for those markets. Sunday, February 1, 2009. This bottom ad is unusual, in that you've got Superman and Lois flying in just to promote Scooter! Ah, the stuff The Man of Steel had to do in those days. Pretty sure that BATMAN was my first ever - and (remember, this was '66) I thought, "cool - they made a comic of the TV show! February 1, 2009 at 8:20 PM. If I'm remembering correctly, Sometime DC writer Mark Waid told me once that was his 1st BATMAN also. Mine, too! In fact this is my all-time favorite DC ad! Hey kids, comics!

February 8, 2013. I cannot believe we haven't talked about a little Batman movie from 1993, that goes by the name. Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. Joker has made his hide out in the art deco filled remains of the Gotham World's Fair pavilions and in one fight scene dons the flight pack to do battle with Batman and the Phantasm. March 23, 2012. One of the best character designs and re-imagined origins for the Batman: The Animated Series was Mr. Freeze. I love the old-school sci-fi/spacesuit look and the 'glass' dome helmet, not to mention the red-lensed goggles. Mr Freeze is a delight to the eyes! The funny thing about his re-written and often lauded origin for the animated series: It was kind of a fluke. I mean, they re-wrote almost every character's origin story!
