Over the years, I've managed to decode the "cute" gender signs sometimes put on restaurants' restroom doors (Buoys and Gulls, Laddies and Lassies, etc.), but they're not always so obvious. Recently I wandered off in search of the men's room and found myself confronted by two marked doors. One was labeled "Bronco," the other "Cactus." Completely baffled, I stopped a restaurant employee.

July 14, 2005. Finally, with fanfare, Raymond began the award ceremony. Third prize, a bottle of champagne and an Olympics-style medal, went to a waiter who had already returned to the kitchen. The winner of the second prize, which was described as a $100 gift certificate, was announced as number 18. Since that was my number, I asked in disbelief if he meant 8. Not at all! Too bad I wasn't a little steadier, because first prize was a trip to Paris!

Peep Visits The World Bank. Peep has always been an art fan, one of her favorite artists being Toulouse La Peep, so when we were invited to an art exhibition at The World Bank. She was eager to join us. Photo badges were required of all. Perhaps they didn't understand her when they asked her last name so they just used the first letter – Peep is pretty easy to understand. However, she forgot to drop off her badge when we left, so she sometimes wears it around the house.
