I discovered it was earwigs a few night ago when I went out into the backyard after dark and snooped around the plants. Earwigs were everywhere. I wanted to use concrete reinforcing mesh instead of nylon for the trellises, but the only place around that had 6"X6"grids was sold out. The only other option was 4"X2". I decided to just buy the trellis material made out of nylon; I'm hopeful that it will work out okay. Central Coast, California, United States.
