Apio y Albahaca: A Trip to Argentina. Just another WordPress.com weblog. The clean mountain air. Animals in Argentina →. July 25, 2008. As part of our rather epic day on Wednesday, we drove past huge salt flats Las Salinas Grandes shortly after noon. Not content merely to see the saline expanse from afar, we took a detour down an even smaller dirt road that led out onto the stark white of the plain. When looking at them up close wasn’t enough, we got out of the car and felt them. Sharp! Salt lick / Noun.

Apio y Albahaca: A Trip to Argentina. Just another WordPress.com weblog. July 25, 2008. Here are some pictures of animal friends we’ve met in Argentina. These noble burros and I may not see eye-to-eye regarding the music of Bob Mould, but I love them anyway. Burros are all over the place here. In Iruya, the mountain village where we’re now staying, they’re used to move food and supplies up the steep trails. Burros also roam wild, and will kick you if you piss them off. Tethered Dogs of Buenos Aires:.

Apio y Albahaca: A Trip to Argentina. Just another WordPress.com weblog. The clean mountain air →. Americans do it better. July 21, 2008. On a long trip to a foreign land, there comes a time when you stop accepting and start judging. I’ve been here long enough to admire this beautiful country and its proud and friendly people. Now it’s time to ask them what the hell they’re thinking. These questions are addressed to Argentinians everywhere:. Dog shit smells bad and is difficult to wash out of the treads ...

Apio y Albahaca: A Trip to Argentina. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Monthly Archives: August 2008. Argentina bids Apio and Albahaca a fabulous farewell. August 7, 2008. Getting back to Buenos Aires was like coming home. After an overload of nature, it was nice to get back to bright lights, big city. We had given up our rental apartment though–RIP, Cabello 3363–so what were two guys to do? Stay at the “heterofriendly” Hotel Axel, of course. Outside was another pool and very nice public space. Day-to-day life | The Yeri of My Heart
https://queenofyeri.wordpress.com/2009/01/07/211
The Yeri of My Heart. A blog about my introduction to a small part of Ethiopia. The first couple of days in Yeri are sort of overwhelming. Though far from the “faranji phenomenon” of “you! We soon fall into a rhythm of waking up to the sound of barking dogs and mooing cows and those fucking roosters that crow madly just outside the house, but all is well when we hear the clank of pots and the staccato of onion-chopping and soon here is Hirut saying, “Miles, Tyler, Girma, k’oors (breakfast)! Things To Do Before Leaving San Francisco. Occasional installments of a fine city's "greatest hits" list. Monday, October 29, 2007. Eat some fresh, locally harvested oysters. Given the proximity of Tomales Bay and/or the high concentration of lesbian in the city's water, oysters are popular here in San Francisco. You should eat some before you leave. Free oysters- fresh or barbecued- on Fridays starting at 5.30 until they're gone. (! Well, it is. Don't forget to tip the oystress. 1 oysters on Mondays and...

Pull yourself onto your bike, ride to Arizmendi. In the Inner Sunset and get a piece (or three) of the thin-crust pizza of the day. Sweating it out on the way will help the head, and a $2 slice (or three) consumed on the bench in the sun across the street will satisfy the angry tum. January 29, 2009 at 11:18 AM. As a fi...
Things To Do Before Leaving San Francisco: Attend the Folsom Street Fair
http://morethanfour.blogspot.com/2007/09/attend-folsom-street.html
Things To Do Before Leaving San Francisco. Occasional installments of a fine city's "greatest hits" list. Tuesday, September 25, 2007. Attend the Folsom Street Fair. Remember when your mother had to actually tell you not to talk to any stranger leading a naked man in a black leather mask around on a leash? Or that time you were grounded for a whole week after your father found Billy, the deaf-mute kid who lived next door, handcuffed to a heating pipe in your basement one too many times? The deal for char...

Things To Do Before Leaving San Francisco. Occasional installments of a fine city's "greatest hits" list. Thursday, September 27, 2007. Eat at Palace Steak House. While not quite as grand as the name suggests, Palace Steak House is nonetheless worth a stop on an "I'm out of here" tour of this city's notable culinary destinations. Now that you don't wear short shorts anymore, it's safe to again frequent inexpensive steakhouses with vinyl booths. Palace Steak House (also known, somewhat mysteriously, as Pa...

Things To Do Before Leaving San Francisco. Occasional installments of a fine city's "greatest hits" list. Monday, October 8, 2007. Go to Baker Beach on a nice day.
