Sandpiper's Thoughts: A Fruitful Faith
http://sandpipersthoughts.blogspot.com/2015/06/a-fruitful-faith.html
Tuesday, June 02, 2015. I taught Bible Study on Sunday evening. The lesson was based on grace. It seems that people can accept that grace is a free gift, but then get stuck in James' writing: "Faith without works is dead.". What does this mean? Does it mean that we really MUST do good works to earn salvation? Does God really count the "stars in our crowns? Or are we missing an important link? Posted by Kim at 10:08 AM. Sandpiper's Thoughts: Both/And Faith
http://sandpipersthoughts.blogspot.com/2015/06/bothand-faith.html
Monday, June 08, 2015. A paragraph from Adam Hamilton's book, Revival. Do you have a "both/and" faith? Do you recognize the importance of both a personal walk with Christ and a gospel that is lived out by good works? Do you seek to love God with your mind, your heart, and your strength? Does your faith reflect both sides of the gospel? Do we grow in holiness and yet ignore the hungry? Do we visit the sick and yet have no relationship with God? What is your weaker side? Posted by Kim at 9:04 AM. When the ...

Sandpiper's Thoughts: The Via Media
http://sandpipersthoughts.blogspot.com/2015/05/the-via-media.html
Monday, May 11, 2015. I'm reading Adam Hamilton's book, Revival. I taught Sunday school last weekend, and the lesson touched on the troubling problem of Church division - from arguments in the church whether about when to wash the tablecloths to how to be inclusive of all of God's children. How do we avoid the division and strife that these arguments can create, while at the same time not ignoring challenging theological issues that need to be addressed? Do we find the truth each person possesses? Advent...

JM Devotional Ministry: October 2014
http://jmdevotional.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. THE SEASONS OF OUR LIVES. To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven". Here in the tri-state we have been known to experience four seasons in one day with temperatures rising and falling like a weather roller coaster. I pity our local meteorologists. We move to a new home, a different job, make new friends. Keep in your heart that there is for each of us a "time to every purpose under heaven" even if we have difficulty understanding why. God...

JM Devotional Ministry: September 2014
http://jmdevotional.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 28, 2014. Begun with folded hands. An admission of powerlessness. There is nothing I can do,. Whatever I bring to you,. Heartache, joy, concern. All is taken from my hands. And given to you. I fold my empty hands. And admit my lack of control. You are God, and I am not. Thank you for this truth. Too often I try to play God,. Taking blame, taking credit,. For what belongs in the hands. Lay your hand on my head. You are God and I am not. A temporary, voluntary blindness. As you sees it.

Friday, July 17, 2015. 8220; ‘With what shall I come before the Lord and bow myself before God on high? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, with ten thousand rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? He has told you, O mortal one, what is good;. And what does the Lord require of you but to do justice and to love kindness,. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

JM Devotional Ministry: July 2015
http://jmdevotional.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Friday, July 31, 2015. Maturing as Christians and the CHURCH. Paul is writing this letter to the believers in Ephesus some 60 years after Christ’s Resurrection. In Chapter 4, he speaks of maturing as Christians. How we have been called to live as Christ lived his life? Instead, by speaking the truth with love, let’s grow in every way into Christ,. But what is the church? Is it a building? Is it a place of rest? I am the church! You are the church! We are the church together! All who follow Jesus,. Shall ...

Friday, June 26, 2015. Each one should use what ever gifts he has received to serve others,. Faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. 1 Peter 4: 10. As a christian, a child of God, we have always been taught that we should praise the Lord God. Thank him for the things we have been given. Let us Pray,. It was...
