Life is good: December 2009
http://jmmoore.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Life is busy, hurried, fun, and frustrating, full of questions and worries. However, no matter what each day brings, Jesus still reigns. Life is good! Tuesday, December 22, 2009. What to render to God? Just a simple thought this morning. Actually the Psalmist thought it first, and recorded it in Psalm 116.12. He says, "What shall I render to the Lord for all his benefits to me? How often do we ponder it, get creative, think about how MUCH we can give God? We have the Scriptures! If we give him money, how...

Life is busy, hurried, fun, and frustrating, full of questions and worries. However, no matter what each day brings, Jesus still reigns. Life is good! Friday, March 13, 2009. This last Wednesday night, the topic was the last of a series of questions that I was answering in youth group. The specific question was the most important of them all–Did Jesus really rise from the dead? Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I took that picture.in the Louvre. You can be jealous. Life is good: June 2009
http://jmmoore.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html
Life is busy, hurried, fun, and frustrating, full of questions and worries. However, no matter what each day brings, Jesus still reigns. Life is good! Tuesday, June 30, 2009. Come to me, ALL. This morning I read Matthew 11.28-30, a familiar passage to many Christians. It's the one where Jesus says, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Now I've read this verse many times before, but this morning it really hit me again. I guess there are just two questions:. Last nigh...

Life is busy, hurried, fun, and frustrating, full of questions and worries. However, no matter what each day brings, Jesus still reigns. Life is good! Thursday, November 20, 2008. Update 11.20.08. Well it's been awhile and I just decided that I should write a little bit. Things that have happened lately include:. Getting pantry stocked by a clergy appreciation dinner. Looking forward to having my family coming to my house for Thanksgiving. Drinking americanos at Starbucks. Proceeding on my car situation.
Life is good: Overwhelmed
http://jmmoore.blogspot.com/2011/02/overwhelmed.html
Life is busy, hurried, fun, and frustrating, full of questions and worries. However, no matter what each day brings, Jesus still reigns. Life is good! Monday, February 21, 2011. So it's been awhile since I've written. But something happened recently that is definitely worth sharing. Over the next days and weeks, I'd like to post some of these prayers so our church family can hear what was lifted up to God on their behalf. It was a tremendous encouragement to me, and I hope it will be to you as well.

Java Dust: October 2009

Wednesday, October 14, 2009. God is still there. Perhaps a word that they need to hear is that God is still God regardless of anything else that goes on: God is still there… in the midst of your doubt, in the midst of your pain, in the midst of your trial, and when you feel scared and all alone…God is still there. I hope that you’ll plan to be a part of this with us and that if you have a friend/ family member who needs to hear words of comfort, that you’ll bring them along too. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Tuesday, July 28, 2009. Reflections on the Past. With Homecoming being this past week and all, I've been thinking about the past quite a bit. The past is intriguing to me. Understanding history or learning from the past - mistakes and successes - is an act of reflection that is well worth the time. It is from our past that we learn and move ahead. Knowing where we've been allows us to know where we are going. But have you ever considered that we can also be haunted by our past successes as well? But here...

Java Dust: Quick Thought
http://alturner.blogspot.com/2009/07/quick-thought.html
Thursday, July 16, 2009. I came across this phrase the other day and I really like it (Batterson, again): Divine Appointments. The idea is, how many times during the day are there appointments that we have with people that have been set in motion by God? So here's my prayer of late: That I would see divine appointments AS they happen and not AFTER they happen. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Loganville, GA, United States. Java Dust: Marked-up
http://alturner.blogspot.com/2009/07/marked-up.html
Wednesday, July 22, 2009. I am practicing a new discipline right now. I have committed myself to reading through the whole Bible over the next 40 days. I have never tried anything this big before and it is a challenge to make the time to do this. But here is where the new discipline comes in: I am not reading with a pen in hand. That might not sound like a lot to you, but you need to know that I love reading and I love highlighters and pens. When I read my Bible, I generally do the same thing. Just A Lit...
Java Dust: March 2009
http://alturner.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Wednesday, March 25, 2009. Sometimes, you just have to look in the right places to find what you are looking for. While I have been despairing over a lack of "growth" at the church right now or even a gray cloud that seems to be lurking, I have to confess that I've missed it. I've missed victories. I've missed the chance to celebrate heart change going on. I've missed seeing others "picking up what I've been laying down.". There are victories going on all around - sometimes you just have to look for them.

Java Dust: Get your feet wet
http://alturner.blogspot.com/2009/07/get-your-feet-wet.html
Tuesday, July 7, 2009. Get your feet wet. For my personal reading, I started to read a book called, Wild Goose Chase. Do you think that the priests were thinking, “If God would do this first, then my feet wouldn’t get wet.” In other words, did the priests want God to act first and then they would follow? Batterson answers this succinctly, “So our faith doesn’t require any faith! That’s right, the building sold. How many stories do you know that follow this pattern? When we step out in faith, God is honor...
