Friday, February 8, 2008. The classic speech that I gave was William Faulkner's Nobel Prize speech. His speech was originally given at a time of fear from possible atomic war. The content of this speech is well writen and has a powerful meaning. In his speech, he reminds young writers to write about, ".the problems of the human heart in conflict with itself.". William Faulkner was a famous writer during the 20th century. Some of his works include: The Sound and the Fury. As I Lay Dying, Sanctuary.

Monday, March 10, 2008. Fear of the Dark. For the pet peeve/ phobia speech, my topic was about my fear of the dark. I chose to talk about this topic because the dark has been a fear of mine ever since I was little. For someone listening to the MP3 version of my speech they should know that even though the fear of the dark may seem very cliche. Friday, February 1, 2008. The speeches that we gave so sar on interviewing another Classmate came out pretty good, considering that they were our first speeches. One thing that I noticed was that several of us were a little nervious when giving our speeches and were saying "um" and "like" often, instead of pausing before a new thought. Some improvements that I could have made in my speech were, not reading directly from the notecards as much and also looking up at everyone in the audiance more often.
