Sunday, April 16, 2006. Regan's Easter Day fun! Who needs chocolate bunnies, when you have visions of squirrels running through your head! What a life Regan has - she spends hours stalking the squirrels, chasing them up the trees, waiting patiently. Best. Girl. Dog. Ever. Posted by Rick @ 8:02 AM. Friday, April 07, 2006. Hola Cómo están Ustedes? No tengo que viajar para mi trabajo en las semanas que viene, y estoy feliz! He estado viajando un poco demasiado, y quisiera quedar en casa por varias semanas.

Tuesday, August 22, 2006. North Shore fun times together. What a blast of a time we all had together! I love all of you, and thanks for making our North Shore time so special. The hiking, cooking, playing ("Sy Same Sierra"), swimming, hot tubbing, road trip, beer and wine, talking, cribbage, and of course, the three new birds (including my favorite, the mourning warbler. It was a great time and I am still unwinding. We had some silly times:. And got some good family photos:. Posted by Rick @ 7:22 PM.

Sunday, May 28, 2006. A more serious post - letter to editor. I just sent this in to the Coloradoan:. The first sentence of a recent news story reads:. Word that U.S. Marines may have killed two dozen Iraqi civilians in "cold-blooded" revenge after an insurgent attack has shocked Americans but many Iraqis shrug it off as an every day fact of life under occupation. I am not shocked. This is what war does to people. Years ago I worked with a man who served in. He walked into a small hut, and heard a noise.

Tuesday, June 27, 2006. I'm at a conference in San Jose California, which of course provides a great excuse to go birding. I went out the past two mornings and saw a total of 11 new species! The most exciting new one was a California condor. They have captively bred these birds the past few years and have now reintroduced some back to new areas. I was lucky to see one of the new birds. So, now my North America list is at 527 species. Life is good. Posted by Rick @ 3:29 PM. Monday, June 19, 2006. So, wish...

Saturday, February 25, 2006. Today we started our first batch of wine - using a merlot wine kit we bought at the new Hops and Berries store in town. Things went pretty smoothly, but the first time you do something like this it is always a litle slow and, for me, nervewracking! It seems there are a lot of different ways. We will figure out what works best for us and keep notes and hopefully round two will be a bit easier. After you top it up to the 6 gallon mark, than you sprinkle the yeast over the top, ...

Sunday, March 26, 2006. Wine cellar and snowshoe outing. Things are progressing nicely on both making wine and making a place to store all the wine once it is made! The old crawl space/hatch entrance in Quentin's bedroom has now been remodelled and we think will serve very nicely as our wine cellar. It is cool, damp, and dark - just right! So, soon I can post a photo of our new cellar with our bottled wine, and not just these store-bought imposters! So, at Cameron pass, you can drive the road, stop and l...
