We were brought up on it – whether it be 2000AD or Larry Niven, future war has given writers the opportunity to construct far-out artifact scenarios and readers an easy road to suspension of disbelief : war is madness after all, is it not? So the children did learn well from their mothers lectures. The children did for their mother what she, increasingly, didnt do for them. Lovely, sad, story. Heartbreaking because the illness is overlooked by a society that welcomes the unobtrusive. Thank you. Such a sad tale. Its well written and the pacing follows her slow decent. Well done. This has a poetic beauty to it and also, for me, a strange unreal feeling - her disconnectedness is so extreme it suggests some sort of illness (beyond fatigue).
