Monday, November 15, 2010. Hugh and I went skating yesterday with a few friends at the newest big skating rink in Melbourne. It was pretty awesome. I've been wanting to go the Icehouse for a while, but it's a bit ridiculously expensive and far. But I've gotten Hugh all excited about skating while we're in Kingston and a few other friends were keen so we went and had a go. Isn't their zamboni awesome? Anyone else in Melbourne want to go skating in the next 4 weeks? Hugh is keen to go again :).

Thursday, November 25, 2010. I think I might have seen a dead locust on the ground today. But I'm not sure because I don't know what they look like. I got quite a drastic haircut yesterday. It's still all nice and straightened, and I'm a bit worried about what it will do tomorrow when I let it air dry. Fingers crossed for not being too bushy and giving me triangle head! This is a stuffed wombat that was on the floor of the info station/gift shop in Freycinet National Park in Tasmania. Enjoy the creepiness, and thank you Brian for getting right down on the floor to take this lovely photo. I was back to primary school today and it was lovely! Back to the lesson planning! Wednesday, December 08, 2010. In the summer time when the weather is fine. I had been hoping we would be able to fit into a beach day before we left for Canada and we finally managed it last Saturday. Hugh and I drove down to the Sorrento area and had a relaxed day exploring the ocean beach, a beautiful park and the more sheltered beach that was scary wave free. Doesn't it look idyllic? Friday, April 09, 2010. And has now been one of a few grade 2s selected to play a role in the school's musical. It's a mish-mosh of characters from different books and the emphasis is on encouraging literacy. She is playing the part of Peter Pan and has quite a few lines. I know she'll do awesome.as long as she bothers to memorize her lines! She's a tough one to motivate, even when she's excited about something. Yay! Closer here I come. Thanks for listening.
