It was supposed to be night for board games, but since it had been a fair while since the last one, we had a bit of chat to get through. And the tour of his house. Adventures in Software, Wine, and Geography. Random thoughts as they occur. Saturday, March 19, 2016. Is it defensible to write industrial software in JavaScript? I've been working for some time on an industrial instrumentation system. The software is predominantly written in JavaScript. That is such an obscure choice - why not in a Microsoft language, or in a more typical PLC framework? The "firmware" that runs on the sensor boards has always been written in C. But none seems to come close to C yet.

Jb (2) : Argentina and beyond. Santa Marta, Colombia. We got to Santa Marta late in the evening and took a taxi to the hostel. It was reeeeally humid and hot! We headed back to Santa Marta around 4 by jumping in the back of a truck transporting empty coke bottles and a motorcycle.
