A tea shop with a twist...
https://www.joannahobbs.co.uk/16-project-tea
A tea shop with a twist. This isn't just another tea shop on the British high street. What tea are you? We got a live brief from FITCH. Design studio: to create a unique space that will bring people to the British high street. Tea has been adopted as a British tradition but tea shops just don't have the same culture attached to them as coffee shops do; we wanted to transform this image of tea. Student work, University of Hertfordshire x FITCH. 2013 In collaboration with Caroline Solheim. Looks like you'v...
National Trust: The ESC. Campaign
https://www.joannahobbs.co.uk/19-project-esc
National Trust: The ESC. Campaign. An integrated campaign in response to the D&AD New Blood Awards 2014 x National Trust brief; to reconnect people, places and nature. The ‘ESC.’ campaign focuses on young peoples’ need to escape their busy lives. The identity consists of computer keyboard references to support the idea of importance of place; disconnecting from this lifestyle and getting outdoors instead. Student work, University of Hertfordshire: D&AD New Blood Awards. New blog coming soon. If you’re in...
Illustration
https://www.joannahobbs.co.uk/21-project-illustration
A collection of illustrations inspired by music and song lyrics. I draw based on a line from a song; often taken out of context of the song's meaning as a whole, these illustrations are my own visual interpretation of the lyric alone. They are created from various scans and digital manipulation. I'm breaking out, escaping now'. You're the only light, only if for a night'. It's a pleasure to meet ya', you look like one incredible creature'. Space dementia in your eyes'. Personal work, 2012 - 2014.
A Graphic Design Student's Journal
https://www.joannahobbs.co.uk/20-project-journal
A Graphic Design Student's Journal. A journal documenting, analysing and reflecting upon my development in the world of design during the second year of my degree. Student work, University of Hertfordshire, 2013. New blog coming soon. In the meantime you can visit my old blog. When I'm not creating you can probably find me getting inspired by: cooking / eating good food; drinking lots of coffee; scouting out interesting craft beers; getting outdoors and exploring, taking pictures or listening to music.
The Dog's Bollocks
https://www.joannahobbs.co.uk/25-project-dogsbollocks
University of Hertfordshire’s Graphic Design and Illustration Degree Show catalogue, 2014. A tongue-in-cheek celebration of 2014 graduates' work; there has been a stunning set of work produced over the last year and we wanted to show off the best in show! We are proud of not only the level of work produced, but the kinship and unity as a year group, which has helped to make us a 'pack' and subsequently: The Dog's Bollocks. New blog coming soon. In the meantime you can visit my old blog.

Joanna Hoang – In order to live, we must keep daring. Keep diving.
In order to live, we must keep daring. Keep diving. 2017: The Year of Focus. January 10, 2017. Nowadays instead of making a list of New Years resolutions, I choose a yearly theme to provide direction for my decisions. To help you brainstorm and have some structure when reflecting the previous year and planning for this year, I recommend setting aside some time and using YearCompass. Below is a list of some things that happened in 2016 because I said yes. Got a new job offer (without interviewing! Visited...
The White House
정신병원심판 is Korean for insane asylum. I have been told by several sources that it literally translates as "white house". Tuesday, September 29, 2009. So where were we? Cuz I also am going to need a new computer soon and am reeeeeelly wanting to go to India over Easter (to meet up with Jess and Holly and Lisa Walker from Korea). Meh, the Lord'll provide if I'm supposed to get/do these things. Um, other things.I've got a place to live! It's getting nice and cool and fall-y here! Thats all for now. It started...

Joanna Hobbs - Creative Copywriter / Art Director
Engaging your audience through words and pictures. That’s basically the sum of it. I’ve been around the advertising block a few times and know how to put the punch in your pitch, mould tantalising taglines and pep up flabby texts. An aptitude for ideas and a love for the Adobe Creative Suite also makes me handy to have around when you need new concepts visualised. I’m also great at making coffee. Seriously. If you need inspiring words for your project or business, call me on 07730 653548.
